Help removing waterspots on my 2019 Black X3 in Honolulu area

Shipped car to Hawaii and it has waterspots😕! Any method an amateur like myself can use to get rid of them?

Your thread may get more help if your title was more appropriate for your question. As is it just looks like you are reporting a sighting in Hawaii......

50/50 water/vinegar on a cotton swap, followed by a water rinse. If that doesn't do it and/or the water spots etched the clearcoat, use a light polish such as Meguir's M3.

I tried vinegar and water on a microfiber cloth. WATERSPOTS still there. Should I try the q tip or is what I did the same thing?

I usually dab it on with cotton swab and let it sit for a while, 20-30 secs. If you can do the same thing with a cloth then it doesn't matter. You're trying to get the acid in the vinegar to dissolve the mineral stain.

Thanks skier219. The dealership is doing a WATERSPOT remover treatment tomorrow but I am not sure these will come off by just spraying on a solution. I am thinking about getting what you said to try instead of taking it.

They probably know what they are doing, so unless they are charging a lot of money I'd let them handle it (especially if a lot of waterspotting). The general procedure is to try a mild acid and then move on to polish.

BTW, ketchup works too and may be easier on some panels. Both ketchup and vinegar are best for spot treatments. If it's all over the car then pay someone to deal with it using a specialty product.

Well I will give the dealer a shot. Never had this issue with my Melbourne Red 328i. Thank you again for the tips.

Garage List
Take your car to a reputable detail shop. One that specializes in high end cars. They will do a gentle acid wash which will remove the spotting. Then then will do any paint correction and apply a finish protectant of your choosing either ceramic or wax type application, etc.

Are you on the same island as Pakshak? They do good work there. They sell a bunch of good stuff too. Don't go to dealerships for anything detail related. Watch and find out why
