This was announced months ago... the mirrors I think are fine.

As for the M tidbits, mirrors and grilles are really a petty thing to be upset about IMHO. I get that its a heritage thing, with that stuff being reserved for true M cars, but once the M badge started being slapped on everywhere, did anyone not see this coming? I remember this exact same debate 13 years ago when I got my 135i. Nobody can take away the M engine and suspension. Also, the quad exhaust is still exclusive, which I'd say is a feat considering cars like the Audi SQ5 get quads (instead of making it exclusive to RS models) and you even see quads on camrys these days .

I don't think it's petty. I think badges are one thing and aesthetics are another. If I want a less special car, I'll buy an m40. It's a great car, and I'm no snob, but I'm getting my first M because I want to experience the best they offer. Being surrounded by posers on the road at a glance dumbs down the M presence

Not a fan of Brooklyn Grey, my missus says it looks like primer lol. Personally, I think mid/dark colours look better, but it's an individual choice.

As someone mentioned above, what happened to the "adaptive" button? Has BMW dropped this in favor of manual selection of Sport, Comfort & Eco modes only?

Just double checked the BMW configurator and the image is cut at the point before the adaptive button. Coincidence? or just adaptive all the time unless overridden ?

Does the LCI owners manual shed any light on adaptive mode ?

youre acting like you are talking about an exotic. the lag in the x3m actually makes it the inferior car to drive in traffic, and i dont know anyone who tracks an suv so im not sure why a plastic fantastic kit is upsetting you so much.

Thanks for the pictures. My M40i is in production now in Brooklyn grey. Only seen it on a 440i so great to see what an X3 looks like. I chose the grey over the blue simply for maintenance when it’s dirty. The grey shows far less water staining than the blue and will be easier to wash and dry. In the dealers lot when I went to see the 440i it was parked next to an X5 in a blue, not the same blue as the X3 but a decent comparison. It had rained overnight and the X5 looked a lot dirtier than the 440i in Brooklyn.

And to reply to an earlier post about the metallic content. It’s ever so slightly metallic up close. Hardly noticeable but it is there. I suspect if it was parked next to a flat grey car it would be more noticeable.

+1 on the front wing M badges. They don’t seem to be on either car which seems odd. They are clearly on the official X3 press release video I’ve seen on YouTube. Might have to invest in some replacement M larger side ‘vent’ plastics which have the M badge incorporated into them. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gloss-Bla...-127635-2958-0

Kinda sounds more like a mica finish. My current car is Mica Black (doesn't look pearlescent) but you only see the effect up close, and it looks different parked next to a solid black car.

Haha might be a little tacky adding a X3M badge to a M40i. I think the cleaner look without the badge looks nicer. That's just me though.

there is no lag if you rev it correctly

I also don't get why it has to rev higher, this is software limited, weird, the S58 is capable of both ends, I guess it's designed this way as a safety factor

Yeah that's much nicer I think.
P.S. I know a few don't like BG but I think the color looks great! 😊

At present my "trust level" in BMW is at an all time low, so getting paranoid about what's been dropped due to "chip shortage".

I rotated the image to avoid neck ache lol !

not sure why everyone is so obsessed with the new interior especially by the shifter. Doesn't look like anything special. The HVAC controls up top actually seem quite annoying

Brooklyn Grey is horrible color, in my opinion. It looks like they got a deal on paint the Navy had left over from painting their ships. What were they thinking replacing Glacial Silver with that color?

Yup, I like those as well. Wish they did other bi-colour finishes in black rather than grey.

What's odd is that the little M badge is present on some people's order tracking page, and missing from others. I have it on mine. I wonder if it's a package-specific thing. Part of Shadowline maybe?

I'm wondering if the side wing m is reserved for USA x3m only. It's on my build app pic but that doesn't matter.

Also, the videos are European so perhaps that's the difference?

Side note, my build has been stuck awaiting carrier for a week.

Why are you so obsessed with badging? You are coming from a 340i and never owned an M car. Should I say you're not a BMW enthusiast until you get an M car? Such infantile thinking. Get over it.
