That's the footage they have in their latest commercial. Think I saw it online somewhere too.

It will come with the M sport steering this isn't a vehicle that is being sold it's for test driving ... you can't get an M40i without the sport steering ..

Here is the link directly to it: https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...7-in-frankfurt Once on that page scroll down just past the lead article to the 'Article Media Material', and click on the Video section, which opens up 8 different video options. Video 4 is the one which shows the 30i offroad and the M40i on the track which then jumps the track to join it off road. Today there were some buffering pauses on the first run of this 1'5" video, but second time through it ran smoothly. |

I felt the same way when I had my E39 and the E60 came out. I vowed to keep my E39 until the wheels fell off. Well, the wheels literally fell off in a car accident and I had to buy another car. I shopped the usual brands and ended up getting an F30. I love it and I love what BMW is doing with its product offerings. Do I wish they still had the feel that comes with hydraulic steering?, Of course I do. But I miss manual windows and wind wings too. Today's BMWs are great cars. We are lucky to be drivers during this generation of automobiles. If you don't like them personally, fine. I hope you get to drive your beautiful E90 for many years to come. |

Yup. Temporary shortage. Supplier issue. Not intentional. I love the M Sport wheels but FWIW some people with smaller hands or otherwise prefer the standard steering wheels, which, incidentally, have been getting sportier on G chassis of the 5,7....

I actually prefer they give us the choice between 1) waiting and getting the M sport wheel or 2) buying now without, as they are now, vs the alternative of forcing everyone to wait until the steering wheel shortage is sorted, but they should be more clear and forward about it. If they had more consistent marketing materials and perhaps availability dates for those who ask, I think it would be a different story from what's going on right now. |

Also, regarding the stock footage: us journalists are allowed to reproduce the stock video (b-roll) for editorial purposes, especially when we test the cars in environments our own crew is not allowed for safety reasons. Glad to be part of this excellent forum! Regards, Jason Ladopoulos |
