Looks really fast on track. Shifts up and down seem a bit lackluster but can't make out the tach.

We need to suck it up and realize that is what we are getting. I just don't think there is anything we can do about it.

I know, me too. Even my wife is mad about it. It is her car. She wouldn't have ever noticed had I not explained the situation........but like us she feels cheated/shorted.

That's just the launch steering wheel for now. M40i models will get the M Sport steering wheel. It's a factory thing. I hope that helps

There are M logos everywhere on the car. Why don't you judge the steering wheel for how it feels in your hand instead of whether or not they stuck a logo on it or offer it on other trims?

Don't buy one!

A purchase of a new BMW is the same as tacit support of their current product portfolio.

Thanks for sharing, X4guy - another good example of the G01 on the track. Are you going to transition from the X4 to the X3 M40i?

It seems more classic sedan and coupe models which once ruled the equation are now giving away to these true sport SAVs which offer more utility yet can hold their own in all but track equations. Having owned within the lower height realm for many years, I can't see going back based on the functionality we get from this set, but it will be interesting to see how this sets up in the future.

That button is where you set all the safety features (lane departure warning, etc). I?m guessing it is backlit with a LED and that is why it appears to be blinking on the video.

It does not actually blink.

Yeah, it is just a Hertz mismatch between the camera frame rate and the light illuminating the button.

I think this is the first X3 M40i that I've seen in New York. Where's mine?!? lol

By the way, toward the end of the video, there is stock footage of an X3 running off the track and onto dirt. Was that from one of BMW's videos? I haven't seen that footage before but maybe I just missed it.

Anyway, sounds nice..
