Just got my hands on a dragy and was having some fun tonight. I was surprised to get a sub 4 second 0-60 but noticed it's stamped invalid (low satellites)?
What does it mean by low satellites? Last edited by MFschwifty; 03-22-2024 at 12:09 AM.. |

The GPS based tracker probably couldn't get a good enough lock on the satellites to reliably track your time-speed-distance. If it’s overcast, cloudy, or you are on a stretch of road with a lot of trees, or if your antenna is not properly pointed you could have signal issues. Find an open stretch of road and try again.

Interesting, I was actually on more of an industrial road. Maybe interference from the buildings.
I thought it was odd that the 0-60 was invalid but the 1/8 mile time from the same run was marked valid. |

From 0-60 your slope is -0,72 and your 1/8 mile ist +0,99.
Alone these data shows, that one is false. Why one is valid and the other not is strange. But I would simply try it again. |

Totally normal. Where did you place your Dragy in the car for these runs?

The roadway wasn't exactly level when doing this pull so that may have largely affected the slope.
I have the dragy mounted on the center console below the idrive controller. Would there be considerable improvement if I used the flat adhesive magnet to mount it on the dash in front of the steering wheel? I worry that the flashing blue light every 3 seconds would be pretty distracting if mounted in my field of view though. |

That’s half your problem. Dragy should be mounted literally facing the sky. So on your dashboard or on your windshield.

Is the dragy's signal directional?
Because you mentioned it literally pointing to the sky, does it matter whether the top of the dragy (the side with the light) is facing up through the windshield or if mounted on the windshield, pointing down towards the dash? |

Lol. No. The dragy needs the view of the sky. It can be in any direction.

Ok, cool. Just wanted to clarify.
I'll see how well it mounts to the back of the idrive screen in an attempt to block the blinking light so it doesn't drive me crazy while driving. |

Moved the dragy to thecenter of the Pano glass for best signal and found a nice level road on my way for breakfast this morning so I logged a run.
Had a bit of wheel spin through 1st gear but 3.71 0-60 and a 7.89 1/8 mile ain't bad. The weather is definitley on my side today for making the most power. Maybe after some more tweaking to map 3 I'll get down to 3.5 sec but it seems I'm hitting my fuel ceiling with 94 octane with the current boost target and my timing is starting to need correction so not sure how much more I could do without a splash of E85. I have to locate the nearest flex fuel station where I could fill up. |

After reviewing my latest JB4 log I'm curious about the accuracy of the 0-60 time it provides in the pop up after selecting a log to view.
Once reason for the difference I could think of is that dragy is using GPS to record the data and JB4 is probably just using an equation involving vehicle speed and rpms to figure this out. Would you agree that the Dragy GPS data is the more accurate of the two? |

The car GPS antenna is in the shark fin on the roof - outside the car body and with a clear view of the sky. The more hidden the Dragy, the weaker and less accurate the GPS signal. GPS signals get weaker in cities and forests, due to tree cover or reflections off buildings weakening of the signal. Remember that the GPS signal from the satellite is incredibly weak. Anything you can do to help it will improve accuracy. Hence why it is recommended that a dash mounted phone holder is used when utilising the phone's sat nav features. The same applies for the Dragy. A piece of double sided tape on top of the dashboard should suffice - indeed that is where Dragy recommends you place it. |

Appreciate all the input and advice from everyone. I chose to relocate the dragy to the pano glass and the signal has greatly improved. I find it convenient there as it's out of my way and provides a solid signal. |
