Gear Shift Paddles

Bit disappointed with the gear shift paddles in the car, I had the F82 paddles in my 440i and loved them.

I want something similar - a little bit longer. Has anyone got any suggestions? I really don't like the M Performance paddles, they look rubbish for the money.

A UK option would be perfect but not important.

I really like these, but $395 without customs and postage costs is steep. From RW Carbon.

That is AutoTecknic's.

RW Carbon is the reseller like I am.
I have it on my X3MC since week 1.

If you're interested, DM me, I can always work out a forum deal.

ooh can you send me a link to the pics, I've got a carbon trim but I think I want to match them to the steering wheel's trim colour ie the silver - is it the Steel Alloy colour?

What is the CF steering wheel insert you have in the pictures? Would be interested in that.

That's also AutoTecknic's.
It was the prototype that I test fitted on my X3MC.
It is in stock now, I haven't add it to my website. But ready to ship. Let me know if you are interested and I'll PM you the price shipped to you.

I thought the factory paddles were too short from the 10 2 position I like to hold, so I just ordered these same shifters last week from IND. I wish I would have asked for a forum price. Thanks for the photos in the car. They look great and should be just long enough to allow me to keep my hands on the chunky parts of the wheel during shifts.

I work closely with AutoTecknic.
Most of the products they developed, I help test fitting them.

I'm definitely up for the silver alloy ones if we can get a Group Buy going!

I changed the paddles and the steering wheel on my 440i and both the paddles and steering wheel are easy to change. Hardest bit (which isn't hard) is to release the airbag (battery disconnected) - I used chop sticks to do it, a doddle!

Should take 15mins to change them.

Group guy would be great.
But, for you guys in UK, if you can gather together an order, it would save you guys the shipping cost.

It is a lot easier to shift at almost any hand position.

Installation wise, it is quite easy.

You will need to remove the airbag only for the paddle shifter.
But, need to remove the whole steering wheel to replace the steering wheel trim.

Steering wheel trim is also nice. Are these carbon fibre or imitation?

Another interested UK buyer here for the ones that match the carbon fibre trim!

Is anyone making a trip to the USA imminently? Would be easy to throw them in hand luggage to save all the shipping costs/insurance
