Go for the Cognac

The black/blue stitched seats look good as well, but they add the blue stitching on the dashboard and blue piping on the floor matt which looked a bit tacky to me

That's good to know! So the cognac gets white stitching? It'll definitely add contrast to the dark graphite paint that's for sure..

You don't consider Mocka? I believe it's a nice break from the black, and good with Sophisto Gray exterior, and I think you can get it with ventilated seats.

Nah wife doesn't like mocha, I think I'm sticking with the sports seats for now, so cognac or black with blue stitching.
Get the cognac, you will be happy and more importantly, your wife will love it.

As for the trim, honestly I think a wood trim would go best. I have the dark oak wood because I wanted the combination of wood and gloss for more contrast and a little more umph from the ambient lighting.

I think I saw your post of your car with cognac, very nice. Right now I'm leaning towards cognac, mostly for the contrast between the graphite paint. Does the cognac leather get dirty easily? I would assume it needs additional care compared to black..

I think it's the best contrast for the graphite. I can literally stare it all day, that's how well they look together.

I'm just about a month into ownership and they've been clean so far!

That's great to hear! Looks like Cognac is the way to go.

I have Cognac with Black metallic, and it’s a great combo. I’ve only ever had black leather, apart from the white nappa leather on my M50d which was a huge PITA, and this Cognac leather looks fantastic & very classy.

Thanks for the input! I've had black interiors before too and I guess it's time for a change!

Stitching is grey the same as on the black dash and door tops, it contrasts really well, I think white stitching would be a nightmare

I love the colour, it contrast really well with door cards and goes nicely with silver elements

Yes it has a slight orange hue, it is very difficult to photograph, comes out as bright orange in some photos you see but the one of armrest I took seems quite accurate (on iPhone screen at least) and X3 brochure has some good pictures as well that seem accurate

I originally wanted Mocha but wasn't keen when seeing it in person and dealer had a 5 series with Cognac (Dakota leather though) and just had to have it, kept seeing photos that looked bright orange before mine arrived but held my nerve and glad I did

Amazing what you notice, only had it 2 months, the stitching on centre parts of seats are coloured to match leather and not the grey stitch as on outer parts of seats, armrests and door cards

There is also some sort of optical illusion going on with grey stitching, against the black door tops and dash it looks white/light grey and against Cognac it looks dark grey/black but they are exactly the same colour

These photos also show how difficult the Cognac is to photograph, both are wrong in opposite directions

yeah i can see it's hard to capture the cognac color in pictures, those look completely different! However, i do like the orange hue of it, very classy and adds a bit sportiness to it.

I know, I don't know what happened with that one, white balance went crazy :

*Edit* Had to try and retake them, it was bugging me, seat base still not perfect though

UK site uses different names for stitching, Canberra Beige get Roggen stitching, Mocha get Night Blue, Cognac gets Mocca, Black and Oyster just get grey

Wouldn't surprise me if they are all the same?

Black with Blue is obviously different though

Sounds like they’re making a lot of work for themselves.. wonder why they don’t just keep the combinations the same, wherever? After all, it’s the same colour leather!
