I had the same problem a month ago and BMW replaced the "TCB and Accumulator"; less than a month later and the same error message popped up again, I'm at the dealership now and they are looking at it again. |

I just got the "emergency call malfunction" this morning and all my bluetooth calls the other person could not hear me. I called my service adviser and asked if I could clear it on my own and see if it comes back to see if it might be just a "glitch", he said "NO". Explaining that while in Social lockdown I am not going to bring it in, "what if I disconnected the battery - would that clear it"? Again "NO".
I tried anyway...... Deleted my bluetooth connections then removed the battery negative terminal for about 30 min. The "malfunction" is gone, I re-paired my phone and it is working. Maybe the malfunction will return but at least I can rule out a temporary glitch. GREAT information here - THANKS!!! (last night was wind driven rain storm so not ruling out a shark fin leak) |

Lucky you!
Mine called the BMW Emergency Services while I frantically tried to cancel. Wouldn't let me so I had to speak to the representative to tell them the car "went rogue" and called without me asking. Then this notice popped up and I took it in for service where they replaced the antenna because they said it was leaking. Took two days and warranty paid. |

Any updates?
We had same issue. Interestingly, it is happening in all models with id7 installed. Some owner who have 840d had the same problem after 4 time replacements. We take this situation very seriously, and it is known that more than 200 vehicles with id7 shipped from 2019 are experiencing this problem. If this problem occurs after the warranty period, we will have to pay for the module replacement every time, despite the vehicle's chronic defect. |

I have this issue currently. Malfunction came on and because of Covid-19 dealer could see car to fix it. In the meantime i had the roof wrapped. Car is at dealership now and they are saying because i had the roof wrapped they will not fix the problem under warranty because they claim its caused by not installing the antenna correctly. smh

The malfunction occurred before the roof was wrapped.

They do their diagnosis and find that the wrap job wasn't the issue, then you're fine and warranty covers whatever is necessary. If the unfortunate event occurs that it is somehow related then you're out 1.0 and now you get to decide the next course of action. If the wrap company never removed the antenna cover, then you should have no issue with warranty. It has been known for the sealing at the antenna cover to leak from improper installation from factory. It's also common for the emergency battery in the telematics control unit to fail which can also cause this check control message. |

I may do that when i have some time. I have to look at how the headliner comes out. Sucks because the microphone now doesn't work when phone is connected and taking a call.

My module was replaced about a month ago after I got the malfunction that would not clear. The battery was not replaced only swapped into the new module. The malfunction is back and I absolutely HATE the car without a working mic. I have to wait about a month to get a service appointment with a loaner as they tell you its a multi day job. From reading this thread I am assuming my shark fin is leaking - hope to convince dealer to address that.
THANKS! |

I had a slightly different but kind of relevant issue last year. As I was driving, the sos number would dial by itself. I'd hear a 'hello what's your emergency' on the other side and I was like WTAF. Strange thing is, I could see a countdown on iDrive but couldn't select no, so it would dial every time.
A few times I had a nice conversation with a nice sounding German lady, in Germany. She knew I was the random dude in the UK who would be unintentionally dialling everyday. Took it to BMW. They replaced the aerial. Problem came back. They replaced it again with additional water proofing. They kept it for a few days and tested it daily with a jet wash. Problem was eventually solved. |

Apparently ours was the fuse being the issue. Also had them throw on all season tires while there as our summer tires are garbage in the cold/snow.
