Took delivery on my 2022 X3M Comp in January. Currently trying to decide which lowering spring set-up to go with (yes, I've read through the lengthy thread on MSS).
Can MSS possibly be worth more than 3x the price of H&R? My understanding is MSS provides adjustability (not sure I'd ever adjust once set) and has a slightly better ride. But on a track (where I've watch videos of both), the urban MSS springs don't seem to have any real advantage, and may even be at a disadvantage. H&R feels like it makes more sense for me (roads here are pretty good too) but has anyone bought H&R and wish they chose MSS (or vice versa)? Appreciate any input. Thanks

Unfortunately, at current prices the MSS isn't quite the value proposition it once was. A year ago the kit was $899 and IMO a no brainer at that price. I think the biggest advantage of the MSS is the spring rate, which gives you a lower ride AND better ride quality. H&R springs are known for riding stiff across many different models, so I imagine that you'll retain the same or worse ride quality at a lower ride height.

MSS are running almost $1,300 shipped with H&R only about $400. Drastic difference. From what I've read, H&R is still slightly better than stock ride (I don't even hate stock ride). I'll pay the difference if there is a measurable performance gain from MSS, but if it is just a little softer ride, I don't know that it's worth it.

I am inbetween HR springs and just going with a KW 3 set. WIsh I could sit in a KW set to know how its different. Ultimately I just want to lower the car, but if the KW is monumental in changes id go that route.
Everyone i know with a X3/M personally got the HR springs and they look and feel great. |

Hence, the lowering spring debate. Glad to hear some more positive feedback on H&R.

Heard h&r is fairly bouncy over rough roads and potholes. MSS does "soften" the ride over stock so it also has that advantage. Will report my experience with Eibach after Monday when I have it installed

I would say that I wish the H&R's sat about .5" lower. Ride is still stiff but comparable with stock..

For the ride, would you say improved handling with decreased body roll over stock with same or slightly better overall comfort?

I think I've decided to go with the KW HAS kit $850 instead of HR springs, its half the price of the MSS and better than just HR springs. V3 coilovers would be optimum but I wanna keep edc as well.

Please post a link to this kit. I want to retain the EDC as well & wish Bilstein would make a nice upgraded shock & spring combo. H&R was what I was considering until I heard about this new kit you mentioned.

KW doesn’t have a HAS kit for the F97/F98 platform.
