Drivetrain Malfunction!

I started my car ( 2021 X3MC with 7300 miles ) after work today and received 3 malfunctions. It was battery, Control and Drivetrain malfunctions. It went in Limp Mode with no power. The Dealership is looking at it tomorrow after work.

Did anyone here get these before ?
Any ideas ?

Thanks

I had that happen after my 20k mile service. Took it back to dealer. Turns out it was a bad battery. Dealer replaced battery, drove car for a couple days, and issue didn't reappear.

May want to edit that photo to get the address off. Not sure how you view privacy on the interwebz these days.

The Service manager is thinking the rear spoiler or shark fin is leaking in water . That’s where some module is. He said there have been a bunch of new cars coming in with a similar issue. We shall see.
The 2 pictures below stayed on all day.

The sharkfin battery issue is common on most newer BMWs. But that's not why the car went into limp mode. The drivetrain malfuction can be anything. Hook it up to a scanner capable of pulling BMW-specific codes. Bimmerlink, Protool, ISTA, etc

My guess is a weak/bad battery.

The Service Dept. said my battery was completely dead. It was fully charged and there are no faults. They have no idea why. They want to keep it overnight and see what happens in the morning.

Force them to replace it!!! It's not a problem that'll go away by recharging the battery. it has a bad cell in it, I'd bet on it!

Sounds like a lot of cars built during the pandemic have lots of issues. Hopefully you get it straightened out.

They said the car is ready to be picked up. The battery wasn’t replaced just charged. I guess we will see if it happens again.

I picked up the car today. The Service Manager said they ran energy diagnostics and battery passed with no damage. They did find fault 100309 on the DME. They flashed the DME with an update.

Would anyone know what the DME 100309 fault is?

I got the same issue i just picked up my 20 x4m with 29k miles 2 weeks ago same day i got a drive train malfunction. I took to one shop they said it was something with my coolant and my engine mounts. I took to bmw they had the car for a week plus, they said it was my selanoids or something like that for the coolant. I got the car back and it reappeared, does the engine mounts cause drive train malfunctions? Cause no codes pop up when i try to check with a reader. The car drives fine but it’s very annoying to see it
