Install ultrasonic pest repeller to front jumper posts?
Hey everyone,
I just purchased some ultrasonic rat repeller devices that are supposed to install under the hood, connected to the car battery posts: https://www.amazon.com/Loraffe-Repel...repeller&psc=1 I only now realize that the battery is in the trunk! My question is: can I connect my device to the jumper posts under the hood? I hope this hasn't already been asked an answered, I wasn't able to find other similar posts. Thanks for any insights! I would not be using that in my car. The one main problem is that it has:
Low voltage protection, automatically stops working to protect the vehicle battery when battery voltage drops below 10.5V. This is too low and if car is left unattended for a long period of time and the battery voltage drops to this level, you will get low battery error warnings. |

It'll work, sure. But you'll have to modify either your posts or the device itself to make the connection. Simple stuff really but you'll have to have at least a small amount of knowledge and tools. The bigger concern is that you are knowingly attaching something to your battery that will drain it. Usually such things are avoided. Is there a power outlet nearby and a 100V version of it for sale?

Any other accessory should always be coupled through the car's fuse box. There are two of these, one in the boot (trunk) and the other accessible through the glove compartment. |

there are some rats in the neighbourhood. I have put poison stations which help, and some small ultrasonic devices attached to outlets and extension cords but that is only partly effective.

As mentioned, you can use the positive "post" as if it were the positive pole on the battery itself.
If the battery goes low, you can buy a voltage regulator for your sonar, which will monitor the voltage and shut it down before it goes too low. |

Hey there. Any luck with rats since?
I had a problem with these pests too. Though I haven't tested the device you had, but I had something similar like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HC8DJ5R...d_i=B07HC8DJ5R and it was fine. I also checked this source and various others just to be sure and bought some chemical repellents like https://www.amazon.com/Exterminators.../dp/B01DTBOV06 and put some on my grill. Worked fine too. Please answer about your case. |
