Seat Belt Indicator Lamp/Signal

The seat belt indicator lamp remains illuminated and the signal alarm sounds continuously without anyone in the front passenger seat. It can only be turned off by engaging the seat belt. A diagnosis and repair solution will be much appreciated. Thanks.

There's a weight sensor in the seat that goes bad if it gets wet. Repair is to take the whole seat apart and replace the sensor.

Or sometimes you can just punch the seat and it goes away.

My seat got wet from open sunroof and rain and did this. I just keep using the heated seat and it eventually went away. Good luck!

OP, you can code out the beep and the light. That's what I'd do since it's an expensive fix.
