Another X4 bites the dust.
Was turning left today when an oncoming vehicle sped up (was she meaning to press the break?) and rammed into the right-side of the X4. Tow truck driver suggesed it was a total loss. FML. Don't have photos yet. Devastated. One month old today. RIP. |

Oh dear, hope all people are uninjured. Being red color, the other driver should have seen you, & as you stated perhaps hit the wrong pedal.
Wow it took so long to order. Assuming you get a new one, maybe order some options missed on current car. 8th/Speed limit info. Personally I think the price difference between the 28i and 25i is reasonable. Take care. |

Cursed?
So sorry Yocal!! Glad everyone is ok. So horrible you have to start the whole process over again if it's totaled.
We got our X4 Wednesday night. I was driving it yesterday when a car was watching people take pictures on the side of the road and swerved into my lane head on. I swerved off the road and the guy steered back just before we would have had impact. I was thinking about Simon Rostin, and now you! I hope we don't have an X4 curse! Much sympathy to you!! So Sad!!! |

In the misfortune, try to see the positive point. You will be able to order ZDB option for the replacement one. |

Sorry to hear about your near miss, @Rizz. My colleague also uttered the word "cursed?" today. If they declare it a "total loss", I'm in two minds about getting an X4 again.
I thought the red paintjob and daytime driving lights makes the vehicle more noticeable than others, but apparently not the case. I wonder whether the LED turn signal on the X4 is confusing or not bright enough, or the driver just wasn't paying attention. |

Yocal, I think we experienced distracted drivers. I have had less people cut me off or cut in front of me in the new X4. People are so distracted these days.
Hope you get to give it another shot with yours or a new one!! |

11 weeks later and my X4 is still out of action.
Just like I had feared, parts are difficult to find and are being manufactured on a need-basis for new orders. Resale parts are literally inexistent. Parts are coming from overseas, Germany and elsewhere, and not from within the US. Due to this, the body shop in unable to give me an ETA at all. Moral of the story: Don't get into an accident in your X4. |

Bloomberg.com:
BMW Owners Vent Anger at Months-Long Wait for Spare Parts Looks like the months-long wait for spare parts is widespread across many BMW vehicles. One of the reasons why I will NOT buy BMW ever again. Not easy posting this, but here goes: Before: (first day) After: Had a poor buying experience with BMW dealership (no names), and now another poor experience getting it repaired (not repair shop's fault). It took BMW TWO months to deliver a spare part to the repair shop compared to the advertised 7-10 business days, and more than THREE months later, the repair shop is STILL waiting for backordered parts. Worthless junk BMW — what is the point? Useless. |

I also suffered a 2x2-inch second degree chemical burn on my right forearm from the airbag deployment. Don't know whether this is common with airbags, or it was a fault with the airbag system in this case.

A lot of you have been complaining about the lack of dual exhausts on the X4. Here's a photo of the rear bumper from the body shop currently repairing my X4. Looks like the bumper has a symmetrical cut-out, but the black piece covering it only has the exhaust cut-out on the left, so I'd think it's relatively easy to mod to install dual exhausts.
