However, I agree that BMW should stop making the GT models - they are horrible. As far as I know though, the touring is not available in US, that's probably why there is a market for the GT. In Europe we have the sedan and the touring. BMW should have made the touring available in US rather than sticking with the GT series, which is just confusing. I believe the X4 has a big market, especially in Europe. The "problem" with the X6 is that it is an expensive car that needs a 3 litre engine, which is a "big motor" here in Norway at least. The same with the X5. The X4 will be the little brother of the X6, just as the X3 is the little brother of X5. The X4/X6 is more sporty than the X3/X5. A X4 will be an option for those in need for a sporty car, but with some more ground clearance and xDrive. When the X6 at least need 30d, the X4 will have plenty of power with the 20d. A X6 30d will probably cost around 200.000 dollars here in Norway with some extra equipment, and I guess the X4 20d with the same equipment will be available for around 110.000 dollars. All due to high taxes on CO2 emission and horse power on the 30d compared to the 20d. So for those in Europe, and especially countries with high taxes like Norway, the X4 will be a great alternative for those who find the X3 a bit boing and not sporty, and who doesn't want to spend 1.5 x the amound of an American M5 on a X6 or X5 30d... The F11 520d cost almost the same here in Norway as the M5 does in America, think about that. |

Same goes in Italy.
X4 20d will sell like hot cakes. People here go crazy with those mini trucks. And it seems that people like the GT series too because i've seen more 5GT than sedans!

Thats a true statement and i must admit, i haven't thought of it that way. The x4 in that case will have a good market but we should all agree that the 5GT has got to go. Also the 3 gt looks much better than the touring and I've heard its really roomy.

Not sure how anyone can lump the 5GT with the X6 and X4
The X4 looks to be a nice, more aggressively styled alternative to the X3 for those who like the X6 unique styling at a lower price/entry point. |

Well I like the X6, I can't afford one and I'm not paying $45,000 for a used Bimmer with 50-60k on it...So the X4 if it looks like this will get my cash....I love my bimmers but they are really beginning to price themselves out of the market for me...So cars like the 4 Series or even the 2 series, are things I look at...

I know most people only think about their market but in Japan an X6 is $135,000..so these smaller models are cash cows in some countries

I saw a 3GT on the streets recently here in LA and it is actually really nice looking.

We have the touring and GT available here in Canada... Although I've never seen a GT on the street, just one parked as a dealer demo (not even a floor model) and a corporate car.
Not sure how I feel about the X4. Feels like the market will be too thin with the GT poking around. As far as the standard moonroof goes, does anybody know if that is even available in F25 ROW markets? In North America it's either no opening or the full panoramic. I probably would have gotten the standard moonroof TBH... Last edited by pokerface; 10-28-2013 at 08:40 AM.. |

not saying its a dealbreaker... but no panoroof SERIOUSLY sucks...combined with a last gen x3 interior vs the newer looking updated version... I'm not as enthused as I was a few weeks ago
