I know, I'm going to get the "I told you so"

I had the catless, equal-length muffler installed last week. The car was extremely loud with the valves open and almost bearable with the valves closed—basically, straight piped. I started the car and immediately scheduled to take it off. Additionally, the aftermarket valve controller needed it's own power source and was rerouted through the trunk(spare ,grommet hole) and powered by the 12v power source in the trunk.

Lesson learned, and now I have experience.

The quality of the product and fitment are great, but they are not for me paired with the downpipes.

I kept the catless downpipes + oem mid and muffler, in my opinion - sounds perfect.

The fumes are not an issue on the newest set up.

That's kinda how it's supposed to be. Its gonna be a lot louder than stock. It's a normal thing for valvetronic systems to have their own power source as they have a remote to open and close the valves. What were you looking for when you wanted a full exhaust upgrade? The fumes is gonna be an issue aswell no matter what since you have catless dps

Yup, I was looking for something different and new. I was over the ER midpipe and wanted less rasp and more spool, but ended up with all rasp and spool. We're talking about RASP CITY.

It's all good. It was a mistake. The exhaust had 30 miles on it and is sold. I'm pleasantly satisfied with my current setup. Now, I'm thinking about a trans tune.

I was able to hear his setup and agreed it was too loud. I alternatively ordered catted dp's and an EL midpipe with resonators, and am going to keep the factory Comp muffler and OEM flap control.

You went with the wrong setup then. Single mp is the way to go for no rasp

Resonated EL is also a great option, gets rid of the rasp. But the catless setup is always going to be obnoxiously loud because BMW doesn't tune their exhausts at all and the turbos kill any good noise.

I mean thats true of all cars. Have you heard a 2024 F1 car? Compare that to the final great era of F1, 2005.
Although I heard and x5m and the v8 does sound nice. Does it sound C8 Z06 good? No, but the turbos didnt completely kill the exhaust noise.

I never understood why people put catless down pipes on their BMW. It's been proven to only net a 11-12 HP gain going catless. Hardly worth polluting the earth & destroying the planet for our kids... al for that laughable measly gain. LOL

It's not for you to understand. We want to explore with our cars, and if it pollutes the Earth, so be it. I'm also in the garment industry, the 2nd most polluted industry, second only to oil and gas. I'm just saying. I understand your position in this, but beating us over the head by repeating your post is a little much. Thanks

sounds louder and you get more turbo spool noise which a lot of people like. I also think custom tuners prefer catless because its free flowing with no restrictions

I mean, he kinda has the word clean in his username , so makes sense he would be all for less pollution (which is a good thing overall)

I just want the downpipes for the turbo spool, then I can imagine I'm racing while moving between 0-10mph in traffic

cutnsew Makes sense!

The spool does sound great paired with the BSM intakes. I feel less turbo lag.

You think it's worth getting BMS intake over RK Tunes? Just ordered a CSZ single mp and wanting to get something to increase the spool sound.

It depends on your budget and aesthetics, in my opinion.

I went with BMS due to availability, cost, and a "sleeper" look.

I have the RK tunes intake and it sounds awesome. Feels like a 90's jdm tuner car with all the turbo noises in sport and sport+, but quiet in efficient mode. And the intakes are just noticable enough through the grilles without being goofy looking, IMO.

Slightly different take on a midpipe that I had made. I'll find out in a month or so if it's any good for sound. I also have a 3.5'' vibrant ultra quiet resonator which I can put in if need be.

It's an equal length that transitions to a single mid.

Yes I love it. No rasp and still has that nice sound up top. It fit perfectly too. No clearance issues with the under brace or vibration noises of any kind.
