Key Fob or Fuse issue?

F25 (2015 X3 3.0L) The key fob has been on the fritz. Meaning sometimes it will lock/unlock the doors. Now it has stopped completely.

Other details:
- Tried replacing battery in key fob. No joy
- Inside door locks work
- Radio (AM/FM) works.

Am I looking at a probably bad fuse? If so which one(s)? I found conflicting information about which fuses and locations. It seems like it would have to be a fuse. Since its likely not the diversity antenna, since the AM/FM radio works. Am I off base here? Any help would be appreciated.

I have removed the glove box before, I hate doing it to get to the fuse panel, but so be it.

Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Do you have comfort access where you can lock/unlock the doors by touching the door handle?

Central locking isn't controlled by a single fuse...modern BMWs use control modules that communicate over various busses.

Could you or someone else have dropped the remote fob and damaged it where a solder joint has come lose? Has it gotten wet? How does your other remote fob (the 2nd one) operate? Does it do the same thing as the one you've described...or does it work correctly?

The interior central locking system buttons have their own path to the control module over the car's communication bus...so by them working only means the issue is not the main module (FRM/CAS/JBE/BDC...not sure which module controls central locking in the X3)...but a communication issue between the remote fob and the control module...which could be an aerial. And again, not knowing if you have CA (Comfort Access)...there could multiple aerials involved that could be interrupting the communication path.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't have a second key fob, We lost it recently. When I did have it, we had intermittent issues with both the key fobs unlocking the doors.

Mine does not have the comfort access.

Any suggested troubleshooting help would be appreciated.
