X4 - Xline @ Sacramento dealership
Was browsing online for local dealership and saw two X4 listed so went by to check it out in person.
all this time seeing reviews and photos so I want to make the judgement myself. the initial looked of the car was big and aggressive comparing to my 2006 325i. once I sat in it, it actually seemed that the interior was almost the same size. The roof line from inside definitely made the car looked smaller and from the driver seat looking back. The driver seat and passenger seat were both the same size like mine BUT without the leg extension, maybe because it's X-Line? the rear seat was ok to get in and out BUT turning around and saw the rear window right behind made the car seemed much smaller. I'm 5'8 so I still had some head room sitting in the back seat. I can imagine 6' tall would be hard sitting back there. the trunk space looked the same as my current 325i. it didn't looked any bigger which was a bit disappointment for me. i'm thinking about adding the X car to the family but this will take some time for decision. The car looked great through all around for the X-line. I didn't test drive it due to the time that I was there, it was traffic hours so I didn't see the point. I'll have to come back once more for it though. The show room one was Black and black nevada AND the outside was Dark grapite with Mocha leather ( like this interior very much)

almost same set up as ours. Did they let you drive the vehicle?
If you get a chance (if your in the market) def try and get a test drive, its a blast to drive. I have always been a fan of the x6 styling so this x4 IMO was a great addition to the BMW lineup

My thoughts of new X4:
I love the looks of X6. It looks muscular/well defined/proportionate. Most either hate or love x6. Sitting inside X6 it feels small as compared to X5, sloping roofline. Similarly, with the sloping roofline the X4 would seem small inside compared to x3, but weird not much difference from 325. Your impression of big and aggressive, implies to me that the exterior is done properly with the correct proportions, hence success in terms of physical appearance. The X6/X4 obviously is smaller inside compared to X5/X3. Performance for the former two is better than latter two, as lower, sporty suspension. X4 pricey compared to X3. Really too bad X4 does not have 10" size Nav Screen. Finally, X4 is sporty compared to X3, hence 35i would be natural choice, I am sure many think otherwise. I think the price difference is quite reasonable compared to larger engine size from I6 to V8 on X5/X6 versions. Last edited by barcelona; 08-12-2014 at 08:25 PM.. Reason: I have not seen one yet. |
