Ya'll need to find a hobby
A guy in the G87 forum was driving his brand new M2 and something hit him on the bottom. His engine is blown and he has like 200 miles. Not the first.

I wonder if the thing that helps us is overall ground clearance, I figured the M2's are still lower than us even with coilovers.

Anyway, I believe our F97/F98 cars are a little safer than the M2 in that other thread. Reason being we are further off the ground. That oil cooler actually works in conjunction with the ground effect. Just like an F1 car theoretically could drive upside down due to the ground effect, our cars have at least some ground effect (lower air pressure underneath the car). Fun stuff.

well shit, i just purchased mine...

You'll be fine.

Definitely need a little bit of patience, but they weren't difficult to install. I had the whole set on in about 20 min

Bend the hooks out before installing them into the radiator opening instead of trying to use a screw driver through the grille to push the hook down.

Can also confirm drivers assistance works fine with zunsport centre grille in place.

Zunsport used my OG m2 to prototype their f87 OG grilles. Having owned the car for 6+ years and toutinely tracked it in UK and Europe with grilles in place, there’s no impact on efficiency in terms of airflow to the assorted rads/coolers/intercoolers.

As S58 has far more effective heat management systems than n55, stands to reason that stock s58 will cope just fine with zunsport grilles in-situ even when driven to extremis 😜

Looking around under there, I don't see a functional nor structural reason for those three plastic "arms". You could cut them then use metal u-clips to then attach a mesh screen.
My post in the link below of my recent trip in LCI F97, being used by Zunsport to prototype oil cooler grille.

Waiting for call back to get the 1st off installed so will update in the thread linked above
