Black/White Trim Swap
Took advantage of the nice weather this Saturday morning and updated some of the trim and badges.
Black/white hood, trunk, steering wheel and wheel roundels Gloss black X3/M40i rear badges Paint matched rear reflector delete Gloss black rear diffuser from Ninte Gloss black mirror caps Gloss black fender trim I have a new Maxton front lip and side skirts to put on when I have my H&R springs installed next weekend. PS Excuse the ugly edges of the wheels. Debating having them repaired or just holding out until I get new wheels. Last edited by MFschwifty; 03-30-2024 at 05:14 PM.. |

We often wonder what to put in this small accommodation?
I made a small box to place in the housing to store some accessories. |

Had drivers side headlight replaced due to dim daytime running light aka DRL. Thankfully under warranty.
For those who might search for it in the future. Reference this: SIB 63 04 18 DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT IS DIM OR DISCOLORED https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...74027-9999.pdf |

I never realized how much it changes the look until I saw your picture tbh lol. I absolutely need this done now. Just need to figure out if painting it or if there’s a trim kit that looks this good! I’m jealous lmao

I like the looks of carbon fiber too, and I think it looks even better together with the suede. But the pattern isn't great on this piece and if you pay close attention to the lines on the top part, you'll notice that they're a bit crooked. The kind of stuff that can happen when hydro dipping a carbon patern. Bought in from AliExpress as is.

Short of going to the dealer, you can get an endless amount of factory parts from GetBmwParts.com. https://www.getbmwparts.com/v-2021-b...rim-front-door This will more than likely get very pricey though, so if you trust yourself or a buddy to remove the existing trim and paint it that would be the much more cost effective option. It was from the truck lid lock (#1 from diagram) and the metal hook thing (#2). Not sure if they are slightly misalign or the hook thing is just a tab smaller than it should be so they'd touch randomly when I'm driving. When they touch, it makes a really faint rattle/ creaking noise. My SA said he couldn't hear it though but he did help me fixed another more obvious noise when going over speedbump so ohh well.
Did some research here and found the solution from another post which is basically wrapping a piece of electrical tape at the hook at where it'd touch the lock. It has been a few days and there's no more noise even when I purposely drove few of the worst road in town. |
