BM3 stopped flashing custom tunes

Picked up my F97 from a 13k mile service today. They swapped out spark plugs already, fixed the 2 recalls (rear camera and something else) and also did some work on the DME they said. Of course everything was reset to factory, so I tried flashing back my stage 2 map once home. No dice! It loads to 5 percent then jumps to clearing codes in the primary modules, then secondary, then fails out. Drivetrain malfunction shows up on the dash too blocking the engine from starting. I began to panic, tried other tunes, same result. Finally flashed to stock tune and everything is working again. I've emailed protuningfreaks about it already. Hopefully they have a fix soon. It's been a while since I've driven stock flash having been enjoying stage 2 93 and E30 tunes for a while now.

I’m sure it’s some technical problem with the actual process of flashing. Maybe try to change the device (PC instead of phone or vice versa)?

If that was the case would he been able to load stock map after the failed attempts? Have you tried any other non-engine map related changes?

Is yours EU OPF or USA car?

When you connect up, on the bootmod3 agent console, what versions does it say your DME files are? Can you screenshot?
It should start with BTLD_, SWFL_, CAFD, SWFK_, etc

It's not clear to me.
Racechip can disable OPF /CAT/V-MAX ? You can activate the Burbless? Or it just works as a power increase and stop.

Funny you should say that I had a software update yesterday and asked if I wanted it. I went ahead and wish I hadn’t. Got home tried to flash stage 1 93 and up to 5% jumped to clear coded drivetrain malfunction. I also panicked and reflashed to stock thank his it worked emailed support they asked to take screen shot of vehicles info with current vehicle software. I really hope they have fix around probable docked DME.

Mine is a US spec. I also went in with bimmercode and restored all my custom settings. That worked fine. But when I cabled in with BM3 to flash the DME my experience was identical to carmicro's

OBD Block is usually due to updated Bootloader file in the DME (BTLD_xxxxxxxx)

What version is yours when you connect up to bootmod3?

Had protuning freaks support come back to me saying my software ID both current and reg are fine I have no error codes and suggested I try again making sure my battery or cable are in top top condition. They say if it normally fails between 3% - 83% it’s usually cable hart issue. The question I need to know is what changed since yesterday when it did not flash till today?. Lucky I could flash back to stock otherwise my car won’t start due to drivetrain malfunction. Not tried to reflash yet because I’m a bit worried 🤨

I would suggest anyone having this issue to take it to a shop that does tunes to see if they can get it to load if you can. That way there's more weight if it still doesn't work.

So, preliminary troubleshooting with protuning looks like the software version bmw just dropped in my DME may not be supported by protuning as I can't even get their software to read and display the version I'm running. I've sent them some more info on my car. Hopefully they'll have a solution soon. In the meantime BEWARE of "free" DME updates from BMW!

What about asking the dealer to revert the change? Make up some excuse if you have to

The red flag is already there. Depending on his relationship with his dealer it's a reasonable ask. Not sure if it's even possible to revert, but in say 6 months if bm3 don't work what would you do?
