Thanks. Just missed that. Interestingly, it looks like the 20 inch f80 wheels can also fit on X3m..

I'd have thought it was 5x112?

F90 is 5x112, the normal car is of course the G30. I'd have thought this would extend to the F97 as well.

You Are the second person to mention that.

I don't follow the f90 so it caught me off guard.

It seems like it is safe to say——
that all g-series cars are 5x112

Most f series cars are 5x120.

Don't buy wheels until you're are sure, lol.

I had to delete my last post as it was incorrect.

The F97 X3M is the same as F90 M5, 5x112

We installed Future Classic 5x112 wheel spacers on our X3M. 15mm fronts is an aggressive fitment.

15mm Front
12mm Rear

The thing to remember when using chassis codes is the M cars stand apart with their own logic... the code itself sometimes ties numerically to the series models and sometimes doesn't (m5 and x3m are perfect examples. The "F90 M5" is built on G30 series chassis)

Regardless of the code the m cars share the same platform and base engineering as the series car so when thinking about things like wheel bolt diameter or any other items that are tied to chassis code always use the series models as your guide point.

Question Wheel Fitments?

I was hoping this thread would get to what aftermarket wheel/tire upgrade options are out there. I know it will take some time and trust IND will get there soon as they've already got spacers on their X3M Comp.

Ideally, we will have lots of options to get more section width in both the front and rear on some nice BBS or HRE rims. Personally, I'm hoping for an 20" FI-R fitment with something like 255/265s in front and 295/305s in back. I have no idea if this is even possible, but curious to find out. I'm really liking the potential look of satin black FI-Rs or similar on a Donnington Grey X3M Comp.

Other thoughts/aspirations?

Note that the stock setup is 10mm wider at the rear with the same aspect ratio so the rear tyre is slightly taller. This means that if you'll need to go 40mm wider at the rear to keep close to this ratio, ie stick with the stock 255s at the front and you'll need to go with 295s at the rear. With 265s at the front 305s or even 315s will keep the ratio similar.

Of course whether that fits or not is another matter!

Have you had a chance to weigh the 765M wheel (haven't been able to find any weights for the X3M's OEM wheel options)?

Hope that aftermarket firms will provide wheel weights in their descriptions and images. Given the choice between three or four different wheels with a favored appearance, it would seem logical I should want the one with the lowest weight (assuming I like the looks of all of them equally). Hard to see how savings on unsprung and rotational weight can be viewed as a negative. For those interested, here is a 4-part series which reviews this topic:

Part I on wheel weight: http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/...t-people-down/

Part II on width: http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/...-size-matters/

Part III on wheel diameter: http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/...n-performance/

Part IV on tires: http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/...formance-part/

I know, I know... 'don't worry about it if you're not going to be tracking it' and 'it's an SUV/truck so if you're worried about this stuff you should be buying a coupe or small sedan', but I actually am interested in taking our X3MC to a drag strip so this would be something I'd be looking at if we upgrade our wheels.
