If the stock ride doesn't bother you and you just want to be lower, Eibach or H&R. If you want ride improvements, MSS. If you're a millionaire, KW V3

And regarding ACS, this is from Lorcan (Rossiters UK Dealer)
"The ride comfort will be about the same as stock. AC Schnitzer tried a softer spring but it made the high speed handling worse. Unfortunately the relatively high centre of gravity on an SUV means the suspension has to be fairly stiff to make them handle. An M3 can actually be more comfortable and handle better."
I wonder if Eibach makes the springs for ACS, because that was MY statement to ACS when I test drove their AC X3M in Germany.

It is a bit tricky to get head around. The spring rate is defied as load/settlement e.g kg/mm - i.e. for every kg you load a spring, then the spring compresses 1mm.

now, take that spring in cut it in half - it becomes TWICE as stiff because the same 1kg weight results in only 0.5mm settlement. Yet many people will think it is the same rate as the coil thickness/spacing is the same.

So, it could well be possible to make a lowering spring that is shorter, with a softer rate that feels just as stiff.

Ive had them for 4 months. Love them. Lower, and softer, but just enough to where I wanted it from the X3M stock. More compliant, still stiff enough to have fun. Just a touch softer, but noticeable.

Also from Switzerland with a X3MC. Did you go with Eibach springs then go to KW or you just went ahead with KW?

I went with the DINAN springs. But some experts say their simply a set of Eibach's with an extra layer of DINAN blue paint on them. Private label / rebranded type of stuff.

You said you were debating between other brands. Did you feel any ride comfort differences with the Dinan springs?

Because of the winter weather here, I haven't had much time to really explore the new spring much (in terms of ride quality). But so far (only about 50 miles into them) they seem very compliant & smooth.

I was originally going to go with H&R. But they couldn't answer my question about the increase in spring rate. But DINAN clearly stated their springs were 20% stiffer. So I chose to give it a shot.

So far I'm extremely happy the DINAN springs.

To those who have had these for a while, were you able to get it back into OEM alignment spec after lowering?

Yes, that's a piece of cake & automatically happens. You get a touch more negative camber in the front with lowering springs. So this is a given.

Looks so good, I thought the Eibachs would sit higher than that too!

Are you running any spacers?
