I think you can configure this on iDrive already...
+1. I don't recall the exact menu it's under but I do recall seeing this as an option when I first got my X3 and I was digging through all the various iDrive settings.

This was discussed a few times in the past. Basically 3 ways to turn radio/car off after engine shut off - press radio button, or door opening after proper configuration, or press Option near iDrive wheel and choose option to turn off car.

I just coded the second option, it doesn't appear to do anything, I can't find any new menu options and ASD is definitely still on.
It sounds like if you code both options to aktiv, you will get a new menu with one checkbox to turn off ASD.

But the FW might not support it. Try.

(I don't have the ASD hardware to try with...)

I have an ELM 327 wifi OBD2 unit. Do I really need an OBDlink brand device to disable the double horn honk to lock doors while engine running? I noticed some notes to that affect somewhere. Can I get by with 1st gen MX rather the the $75 most up to date MX+ model?

I already used the bypass harness to get rid of ASD. I love how quiet the car is now, but ... ... ... my wife wants ASD back. She complains that she does not like not hearing the engine. I was getting ready to make a custom bypass harness with a toggle switch that will connect/disconnect the ASD audio from the HK amp. But then I noticed these options in ESys and started thinking that maybe there is a way to control ASD via the head unit. I'll play with the options on the weekend.

Just coded the red interior light.. my son noticed the difference and said it would be even cooler if it changed the interior color based on whether I'm in Sport (red), Comfort (any), or Eco (blue). Kids really have a way to make you think..

Would that be possible?

Keep us posted if you can find a way to adjust the level of ASD, not just on and off.

I've been wondering. If anyone can tell the difference in music quality and audio environment inside the cabin, among the different methods of Turing ASD off - unplugging (HK system only), fuse pull (also HK only), by-pass harness (HK and base audio), or coding off (also HK and base)?

I tried both, still no extra menu options that I can see.

Pull the fuse for the exhaust flap and have her drive in sport mode. She'll get to hear the engine and exhaust more without having ASD enabled. It's a win/win.

Hmm, I will look into that. I saw the thread on the "mod" to keep the flap open.

That's disappointing. Somebody from BMW should scan the threads around here to understand what their customers want. They are probably talking to a bunch of marketing guys who want to keep everything "simple so customers don't get confused with all those options in the iDrive."

Seatbelt pretensioner

Has anyone found the fdl codes to disable the seat belt pretensioner? Is it possible to have it as an option in idrive to let us enable or disable seat belt pretensioner via the iDrive?

Wonder if the maker of bimmercode might have more knowledge about these settings.

Almaretto does this kind of coding and more for members around here so I would assume what he posted is a pretty good lead in the right direction. He's able to do more than the BimmerCode app can do currently.

Those are F90 settings. You can learn a lot from Xpath.

That's exactly what my wife says. We like the pretensioner.
