Winter wiper blades
Have had my X3 M40i for three weeks. The last couple of days we’ve had snow and sleet. Car is excellent in the snow on the Xice 2 tires. However, the stock wiper blades ice up really easily . Has anyone found a better solution? Dealer had nothing. Tire rack has Valeo beam blades that supposedly fit. Comments appreciated.

Never heard of using special blades for winter. Just make sure your windscreen gets a bit warm with the defrosting mode.

maybe good water repellent might help. I used rainx but lately doesnt seem like its working. I might try another brand or apply it again. |

The windshield was fine, defroster keeping anything from freezing. It's the wiper that gets caked with ice that then gets dragged across the glass making difficult or impossible to see clearly through. I ordered a set of Valeo "beam" type wiper blades from TireRack. They were the only aftermarket ones I could find, and not too expensive. The dealer had no solutions or alternatives.
