Porsche Macan Turbo V6 440hp, 442 torque, 4488lbs, 0-60 3.5 C&D

Good news, this segment has broken the 3.5 second mark and it looked like BMW should have been right there at 3.3 wtih the Alfa and Mercedes, BUT the weight is insane, 300 lbs heavier than the Alfa???
225 lbs heavier than the F Pace that has a V8, makes no sense. How is this heavier than a mercedes? BMW should be around 4300 lbs with these.
The Stelvio QV and the Macan Turbo PP are smaller SAVs but I agree 100%. Don't understand how it fattened up so much. M-XDrive weighs that much more than the AWD XDrive in the M40i? Other than the weight, the numbers here look really good. Maybe the weight is incorrect. I need to see some real world reviews but it looks like I am going to be jumping into one of these soon.

Remember when you could buy an M5 with 507hp and you would have the most proud version of the M5?

The upcoming M3 will have a "poor trash" "still poor" and "this is the only true M3 from factory with correct specs and not defined" versions

smaller than what? not the X4

Jaguar compares in size to X3, Macan and stelvio to X4
Mercedes has one of each

I was referring size comparison to the X3M. Stelvio QV and Macan Turbo are much smaller (smaller cargo than even the X4M and 10 cubic feet less than the X3M). IMO, FPace SVR and the GLC 63AMG are the biggest X3M competitors. Regardless, X3M / X4M should outperform everything in class and all of the above included. We will see but the numbers look promising.

Perhaps because the comp model is considerably more expensive and adds things that some power don't need (a negligible bump in power for an already blazing fast vehicle and some visual bits that people may/may not like). It's like saying why get the m40i when the x3m is available. Different strokes for different folks.

For what this is sure to cost, just buy an M2 Competition and a minivan/suv.

0.1 second 0-60 is marginal. Just get a normal X3M tuned. Odds of running up against another X3M are going to be slim.

No ventilated seats?

Do we have to remove the CF brace to change the injectors, spark plugs and air filters?

I think the point is that if you want leather and 21" wheels that's half the cost of the comp upgrade right there. So if you want a few of the most common options, that happen to be standard with comp pkg, the comp pkg is a no-brainer.

To your point, certainly some out there will be fine with a stripped model (if you can call it that).

Further proof that ///M now stands for Marketing. Performance metrics aside, the fact that any SUV gets M treatment before a touring variant does not fit what the BMW M brand used to be.

These will obviously sell well because there is a market for those who just want the most expensive version of any model they can get their hands on, not to mention the current SUV (tall car) craze the America has fallen into. Old M standards have now given way to "AMG all the things".

Not possible for RWD. It's full time AWD as there is also a AWD sport mode.

Dude....this will be miles from your m-sport with PPK 40i....in all measurable ways...it's a true M, at least as true as one gets in SUV form, and your car is...not.

Just be happy with what you have, and don't test drive one of these.
