f97 speaker upgrade/replacement (sound system)

guys what do you think about replacing/updating speakers in the 2020 x3mc with this??? the sound system is not up to par... it sucks. so I wanted to upgrade and make it better!

I have installed and sold BavSound with great success.
Most of my customers always asked about the BimmerTech Alpha One, but the amount of customer that has used or gave a feedback about Alpha One is 0 to none so far.

All I can say, I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed with BavSound.

I went with Bavsound for my f80 M3. Did all speakers and the subs. It should dramatically better. Bass was far cleaner and overall the system was a lot more musical. It didnt have a heavy hitting bass or incredibly detailed sound, but it was miles better than the stock HK system.

I am either going to replace my x3m speakers with BavSound or Alpha One. So I'm really interested in this thread. I looked at the review threads for the Alpha Ones and most of them seem to be people coming from the Hi-Fi system and not the HK system...So not super helpful.

I would love more people to step in here and give some reviews of the Alpha One.

I got the Bavsound Stage 1 speakers and the Ghost subs. Bass not superstrong, but very nice, clear sound - huge improvement over the HK sound system.

so $1400 for those parts and how much is installation? around 300? so about 1700 for updating my sound system for a car that is worth 83k? bmw should install BAV speakers as an upgrade. SMH

it is what it is. I agree that X3M should have come with a better sound system and a full leather interior option - my two biggest complaints about an otherwise great car.

Its so infuriating that they don't offer a like $2500 option to upgrade to B&W or something. In the later days of the e90 M3, they offered a "Premium Sound System" which was a step above the HK system. It was a unbranded B&O system. My Fiancé has it in her 2013 e92. It really kicks ass!

Before you guys shell out the money have you adjusted the EQ settings? It's bad at the default flat but if adjusted properly the HK sounds decent.

Idrive settings/tone/equalizer

My system was updated recently, everything went back to default settings, and I had to go back in and reset it.

These stock HK audio systems are terrible.

I really miss the factory system in my E92. It had the Individual Audio System (Option code S752A).

Wish they continued to offer it as a factory order option.

I second this, I was about to pull the trigger on the upgrades when I found a post suggesting adjusting the EQ.

It improved drastically!

I know sound is super subjective but can you guys post your current presets in the eq settings? Want to give them a try

Funny - I realized about the EQ settings AFTER I purchased

It does make a huge difference.

I'm still glad I did. The BavSound is better than stock but still lacks low end so I also installed an amp/sub.

Now I want more volume from the mid/high speakers. BavSound has talk about an amp but no word on release yet.

I did the BAVsound subs and Focal for the front and rears and center. Very pleased with the upgrades and it comes close to rivaling the B&W Diamond systems in my M8/X5M. Wish BMW would just offer it in this model. Benz offers Burmeister in there GLC63...

Bavsound does not have amps for the HK S668A option, unfortunately. Fortunately, you have much better options for aftermarket amplification. Audisson, Helix/Match/Brax (auditec fischer) and JL (VXi) are all options that will outperform the bavsound amp.
