Looks better and more modern, but the bumper moustache doesn't look good... the lights are an improvement and will make the pre-LCI look dated in the night.

In most instances LCI is just change for the sake of change. People are trading in their leases from when the vehicle first launched and BMW needs to give them a reason to lease another one.

Besides looks, that's my main 'have to know' item right now. Is iDrive updated? Any remote start or other tech goodies I may want?

Agreed, give me the full upgrade to SP18. Give me back some of the features pulled due to component shortages and I'm placing an order this month.

If the Driving Assistant Pro and HK Audio only come in the M40i still… then I need to test drive a 2021 M40i and see how I like the engine. Or go back and look at the Q5 and XC60. I want a BMW, I just feel that with the current chip issues - it's becoming hard.

Yup, I am placing an order for the 21' M40i and they are not allowing me to purchase the HK audio due to shortage.. kind of disappointed but not a deal breaker for me. Not a fan of the LCI. Too tacky and connecting the front grill ruins it for me.

Looks ok. Not a fan of the fake vents on the rear and taillight design seems a bit odd to me. Overall though, a nice little update. Will be even more interesting to see what the next gen X3 will look like.

I completely agree with Caturday Morning... I also thought Subaru when I saw the pic- my business partner has a white Subaru and it totally reminded me of it.

SP18 is the updated computer that gives you the full capability of iDrive 7. Supposedly the LCI is supposed to allow for OTA software updates (not just maps), Remote Start, and better Distracted Driving detection (camera vs touch).

Hard to see much from that angle, but the new screen seems bigger. From the back of the screen, it looks a bit bulky and does not look as slim as the ones in the newer interiors (the G20 3 series or the G05 X5).
