I avoided getting myself locked into a rate or give them a sense that "they had me" in a deal. They weren't to happy with the idea of just taking my deposit without signing a contract. I literally spent 1 1/2 hours there with majority of the time spent going back and forth with their finance guy.

Also, whenever I have ordered a BMW (5 of them), I simply provide them with a deposit and initial the order form. No way I'm locking into a contract until I have seen and examined the vehicle. Also, not even sure you can sign a lease contract until delivery - you don't want to be making lease payments while the car is being built and shipped!!! |

Follow up This is a general huge thank you. I used the advice from everyone here which was totally on target. Learned what folks paid, learned what options I wanted, learned what percentage I wanted to ask for prior to incentives. Made this easy. I asked a few places and liked what I got remotely from a Georgia dealership. My local dealerships couldn’t come anywhere close to the offer. Decided to pick up at Bmw performance center in South Carolina and had a blast. They did such a great job I would recommend highly. It was worth the drive back to NO. I love the car, love what I chose, had a good experience remotely with the SA and was happy with the deal. The advice here is spot on, even learned much more here about pluses and minuses of certain options than some of dealerships knew.
You guys are the best! |

This forum is very helpful so thanks everyone for your insight.
I am interested in financing a xDrive30i build and am contemplating waiting for the 2021 model. The May 2020 APR dropped to 0.9% and I am able to get a decent discount off MSRP before incentives from a local dealer on a 2020 build. Would I lose out on the low APR, dealer discount and incentives if I waited for the 2021 model? Are these essentially eliminated with the launch of a new model? |

Thank you - appears to be no incentive on X3 M models. I could be mistaken but I thought there was some incentive last month?

Thoughts on this deal
Hi all,
I'm hoping that someone can give me some thoughts on this deal. This quote is from February, when I ordered the car. I wanted to go back and calculate the lease using the MF for May (when I'll take possession and execute lease), but will be honest in saying that I'm a bit confused. The residual value listed seems low for a 36/10 lease, which is what this was supposed to be quoted for. Please don't hate on the new guy...I'm trying to learn this and read all the forums. First BMW in the family ever and I love it. I hope I got a good deal as I didn't do any research and was on a short timeframe to buy because the previous car was totaled. Picked this up at the end of April.

Question about dealing with a broker (soCal - LA) - should i be treating them like a dealer (haggling on msrp % etc) or are they really offering what they can do upfront? (typing this question out makes me feel like an idiot)

So I was offered 9k off my X3 M40i that I built to my liking. That discount is also including the 5k incentive. Should I be going for more of a discount or am I pushing it? my build is about $69.5k with delivery fee.

I just received the breakdown of my payments and associated fees for my X3. Im confused by the taxes, why isn't my down payment and incentives being deducted prior to taxes being charged?
