Cold air blowing while heat set to 80

Has anyone else had an issue with their 2022 X3 blowing cold air while heat is set? I notice hot air blows initially and then it cycles to cold air for a few minutes then cycles back to hot air. I haven't noticed if it only does it while I'm at a light and the engine is off but is this normal? Or is this something to do with climate control and keeping the internal temperature at 80 and when it gets too hot, it'll cool it down?

Could be part of the fresh air mix, or keeping it from getting too hot. I would definitely try it with Auto SS off to see if that is it. I highly doubt you will find many people who have experienced this, as I can't imagine there are many people keeping their cabin at 80...wow.

What do you have the fresh air vents in the middle set to in the iDrive? You can tell it to have cold or warm air regardless of the temp of the rest of the car.

I didn't even know this was a setting, I'll have to check what it's set to when I leave work, Thanks! Lol I'll report back.

It's cold here in New England so I usually set it to 80 to warm up the inside quickly then bring it down to like 74. I will try it with Auto SS off and see if I get the same result.

I see a slider in the A/C menu and it's set right in the middle between cold and hot.

So that should mean it’s giving you the internal temp then, mmm. I have mine set to a bit more cold which normally means fresh air for me.

Does it happen all the time? Heat should work as long as the engine/coolant is warmed up.

I actually have a similar issue, although it's the opposite as yours...See this thread.

I'm having the same issue with my 2022 X3 m40i, have you figured it out? It will be set in the high 70's and occasionally blow cold air and I just don't understand why.

I do not have this issue. Are you by chance running ECO Pro mode when this happens? When you go to ECO Pro Individual instead of the regular ECO Pro you can turn on and off the ECO settings. One is a climate function. I am not sure what exactly it does. But I can imagine if you are running the regular ECO Pro mode that the car could by cycling the air to save power?

Another question - Are you circulating your air in the cabin or bringing in new fresh air?

Ahhh ok. My sales rep told me that if it's set to auto, it'll cycle warm and cold to keep the internal temp to what I set it to. But I don't have auto turned on so I'm at a loss. Lol must be some quirky thing that's meant to happen.

It happens on and off but daily. I saw your post, that seems odd. I know there's a place in the climate menu that you can adjust the temperature but I don't understand it too much. I'm gonna have to sit down and read the manual. Lol

I haven't figured it out yet, my sales rep told me if it's set to auto it will try to maintain whatever temp you have set so the cool air will blow if the cabin gets hotter but I don't have it set to auto so I'm stumped.

Hi, I've never used the eco mode on it yet. I usually just use it in comfort mode.

I have it recirculating the air I'm not a fan of the fresh air option. Makes my hair frizzy when it's crappy outside lol
