Remote start
New here; but not new to forums (nor BMWs). Just picked up a real nice 2011 X3 F25 N52B30.
I've called around and searched here to no avail for a remote start; seems the X5 may have something, but not the X3 ??? I'm in Central VA |

Not sure why the X3 is not covered, and other models are.
I found one that is good for the F25 from 2013 and up. You could ask the seller if it could work on the 2011 model, and if it does not, ask the question why. Here it is

I did some reading concerning the remote start, and apparently the issue is in the door locking mechanism. The unit is sealed and in order to wire the remote start, one needs to be able to tap into the door locking mechanism as well. BMW unfortunately has used the old style sealed units in some newer cars as well, and the X3 up to 2013 is one of them. That is the reason all these remote starters are not compatible with the 2011-2012 F25. It's the same door locking mechanism found in the e83 X3 (2003-2010).
Some shops claim they have found a solution, not sure what they did, you might lose some functionality, or maybe you need to by-pass some security feature, which I don't know. 0.02
