2019 X3 M40i battery replacement
My BMW shop quotes me $750 dollars to replace the battery. Is this how much it costs? This is the first time I am replacing the battery

Yes, if you don’t have any tools & confidence to pick up the battery from their parts dept and install and register the battery yourself.
When I replaced the battery in my F06 650ix GC back in Jan/2023…the 105AH battery cost $227 with my BMW CCA discount and core charge return. Every other battery cost more out the door. And the BMW battery from my local dealer’s parts department came with a little baggy adhered to the side that had a replacement little black elbow (used to hook up the car’s vent tube to the vent hole in the batter…and also came with an additional plug to insert into the other vent hole on the other side that prevents off gases from escaping into the enclosed battery compartment).

I was quoted about $800 at the dealer, after they confirmed that the battery sells around $270.
Absolutely a rip off. Only thing you need to spend sometime or a bit money on is reprogram and register the battery after replacement, which you can usually do with a quality ENET scanner that costs $100 and useful for numerous purposes in the future. |

Wondering if replacement of battery with non-BMW batteries void any of the warranties?

What? That's insane. Do this yourself and save a ton.
I just ordered a Group 49 H8 battery (our size) off of Amazon for $144 delivered. Was here in 3 days. Should take all of 20 minutes to install Saturday morning including coding it with Bimmerlink (free). If I needed a coding dongle it would have been another $60. Edit - I had to use Bimmerlink to register the new battery and Bimmercode to code to new amp level... so costs perhaps a bit higher if you dont already have Bimmercode and a dongle.
