I'm actually in the market for something like this, but overall sounds too compromised. Hard pass as it stands.

Maybe it's RWD platform with FWD electric drive?
BMW made in Chyna?
I am so confused with this product.

Saying this not as a reporter but as a long time BMW fan: this is just another reason Krüger had to go. Good riddance.

Well, i've gotten confirmed AWD, from BMW in Norway. And the ones with a deposit on buying the IX3 have gotten the same info, it was sent out on this monday about 08 in the morning!
It was also confirmed trailerhitch and a couple of other things. The G08 is correct though, and a WLTP with 400 km.

Looks like it's the energy stored in the battery.
And I am really disappointed for one it's it doesn't have AWD
Second 75KW battery is to small
They should be at 100KW

Edit: I rather get this polestar 2

I'm really having issues with change.
BMW's built in Mexico and China is difficult for me to accept. (unless priced like VW's built in Mexico)

I'm really trying not to buy anything from China right now, it's a challenge.

I saw a video just this week with the iX3 testing in snow with AWD, so not sure if that is final or complete. I have no problem with manufacture in China, they have some of the best manufacturing in the world out there.

The EQC sounds better in every way to me tbh. Sad BMW. Currently driving a 440i loaner while I wait for my M5 back . Wow, big yikes, it's just sad how vanilla BMW is. An Audi S5 is more fun and engaging, better interior, and looks better.

Now you can get a Mexican 3 series or a Chinese X3? 'Bayerische motor worke' oh i am laffin

It's makes no sense.

iX3 has to offer Electric xDrive.

I can't wrap my head around it not being offered in both sDrive and xDrive.

Well I wish them luck replacing him with their production manager. The car industry is getting ridiculously serious. BMW Group needs a serious no joke CEO, or they'll be extremely sorry.

He hates German autos. BMW would not be able to get around that. But luckily the car won’t be out until he’s hopefully gone from office. Or when the trade war is resolved at least.

Trump owns several Mercedes... not entirely true.

G08 long wheelbase because that's the model they already build in China.

The base Model Y is also rear wheel drive.

Volvo and Buick already sell cars and SUVs here that are made in China.

Too much complaining. A 300HP RWD battery-powered SAV sounds pretty damn fun to me. Low center of gravity, 50/50 weight distribution (presumably), and instant torque in a long wheelbase X3 sounds like great fun and practical as well. xDrive will surely be available too, but honestly, who the hell is going off-roading in a battery-powered SUV? AWD does not stop or turn better than a RWD vehicle on snowy/icy roads. Nothing some decent all-season or better yet dedicated snow tires couldn't solve!

As for being made in China, a BEV grocery getter made in China bothers me far less than the next-gen M2 being made in Mexico!

I ski, and most days they will ticket you if they find you up the canyon without AWD. Also would suck to be that guy in line fishtailing up the hill, blocking both lanes, causing big delays as I always tend to run into at least once or twice a season. Super inconsiderate for people to take such vehicles up skiing thinking they can get away with it and making huge traffic jams in the process.

Can't help but chuckle a little while reading responses - most of USA doesn't need AWD. Now, that doesn't say anything about people wanting it, but they really do not need it. If you have a moderate amount of snow (as in around 1,5 feet of snow twice a year, but not every year) in your area, you really don't need AWD, we've been managing with RWD BMWs for 20 years where I live (snowfalls are as I mentioned above, used to be larger, but global warming and all that). One trick my father used was to put some heavy box of tiles in the trunk (or a bag of cement) and it had enough grip to drive safely to work and we live in a mountainous area. What really decides your ability to drive is tires - get snow tires and stop cheaping out on them (and no, all seasons aren't as good). You look like fools spending more than 50k on a car and then refusing to buy snow tires.

Also it will come in AWD, so your worries are void anyway.
