X4 M40i: Illuminated M brand in headrest?

Hey guys,
while configuring my new X4 M40i I've stumbled around with the seats.. On the one side it was a requirement for me to have seat ventilation in my new car.. But then I saw the M Seats, which are quite beautiful. So at the moment I'm favoring that M-Seats (cf. image). In the headrest there is the M brand, which is illuminated in M cars like X4 M. Unfortunately it is not illuminated in M performance cars. Do you know any possibility to get that brand illuminated? It seems that the M seat in M40i is the same seat as in the M model. Do you know, if there is a headrest or only that illuminated brand module available on market?

If relevant: It's the European (German) version.

Thank you very much!

FYI - The ventilated seats on the US model X3 M40i do not have adjustable side bolsters (I do not know about European models). The non-adjustable bolsters on those seats are terrible, they are too wide and you will be sliding all over the place when cornering. There are a few threads on that topic in this forum.

The seat may be similar or the same but the harness for the trim light may not be included in the wire harness for the X3/X4 M40i

The OP is asking about the M Sport seat which is not (yet?) available in the US and is completely different than the vented seats we have.

Ventilated seats also have less padding so unless they are a must have option for some reason they should be avoided.

the lights not on all the time - only for a short period when you first unlock the car.

First of all, thank you very much at all for your advices :-)!
The missing side bolsters was also described by my BMW trader. So I think it will be the X4 .

@Chopper45: Do you ordered the X4 M40i or is this the X4 M? If you unlock the car, the badge is illuminated? Just to be sure, because there is no color in that badge in your picture and in the rendering of my configurator it is colored.

Best regards

Ah thank you! Then I will ask my dealer if the badge is at least colored, since there is still a difference between the photo and the rendering from the configurator.

The badge is only plain black on the standard cars. Only the true M cars get a colored and iluminated badge.

@Ravenous666 Alright, thank you! So that will be a point to discuss with my trader 🙈. I see, you are living in Hamburg – so there is no reason for geographical product diversification.

Best regards

Hi,

this is from my 2020 X4 M40d. I've seen the same on an 8 series. No colored logo I'm afraid. The rendering on the BMW site is just for show.

Exactly the same in Australian market, which is usually similar spec to Euro. You can have either side bolster adjustment or ventilation, but not both.

And yes, I found the ventilation seats flat and lacking in support.

This is the reference for the colour illuminated M badges: 52108745038

I don't think we can make them illuminate in non M cars unless the seat wiring is the same and they can be connected as plug & play, but at least we can have them in colour.
