Error message / warning in HUD

Hi everyone. I wonder if any of you have ever had this symbol show up in your HUD? It just comes on randomly with no audible warning. I have been wondering recently if I haven't been having some issues with my AEB as it doesn't ever seem to give me a warning in situations where in the past other cars with AEB would have alerted me.

Hi thanks for that. Shouldn't there therefore be an audible warning. If the HUD was off I would have had no alert (not that it was needed in this particular situation).

Oddly it resembles the tire pressure warning symbol, like a tire cross-section. I see that come up randomly on the dash in my Transit van.

That is not the symbol for following too closely to the vehicle in front - at least in North America. Our symbol is red and looks like the rear of a car. It will sound an alarm (and flash, I think) the closer you get.

Was that just a guess or do you know that for 100%? I ask because I have had HUD for about 6 years in various cars and NEVER seen that symbol. IN current vehicle when something fails (like da+ for example in crappy muddy conditions) you don't even get that exclamation mark.

Certainly not in the UK model.

Tire pressure warning or pending flat warning. Not a notice for following too closely

God knows what that is! As said above it’s not getting too close to the car in front, that brings up a red car picture.

Nope, that looks like this:
What I meant to say was that this is some sort of warning related to the sensors on one of the wheels, either some sort of reset is required for all 4 sensors or one of the wheel sensors has failed.

But 99% certain it's not a "too close" indicator...

I sent the image to the dealership and they asked to see the car tomorrow morning. I will report back as soon as I know more. Thank you very much for all your help.

That is a car and an exclamation mark on top of it! Too close to the car in front! Change your settings from ``early`` .. and don`t show up to the dealer ) it`s not a fault.

Well.. might look different in different countries, but I'd say it the distance warning.

I get the distance warning from time to time - there is often a loud beeping if you get too close, and it's bigger and redder than your photo.

Too me that looks like a low tire pressure warning - what are your tire pressures reading?

You could turn off the collision avoidance - if you do, does that warning still occur?

The frontal collision warning symbol that most of us are accustomed to seeing is shown in this video around 1:10. It's shown in the instrument cluster, but if you have HUD, it's displayed there as well if the HUD options are set to include safety warnings.

That’s the „too close to car in front for the current speed“ warning, the larger red car with the audible warning is the collision warning when the car in front brakes but you aren’t.

I stand corrected. I learned something new today. I showed that image to my dealer and he had suggested the sensor error etc. Guess not!
