I bought my Akra for 5k from a friend (12 months old) for my CS. Sold it for 5k 12 months later again. Retail here in Australia is 9k plus fitting. Unfortunately the X3M is a car that's less likely to have the same modding community here vs. the F80, so buying a used Akra for the X3M will be tough, selling it for close to the retail of 9k would be impossible. I reckon i'd be lucky to get 5k back used.

Who am I kidding though - i'll probably buy one anyway as Akra really do make an amazing product.

Anyone here have Akra on an X3M in Washington or Oregon? Would love to hear it in person before dumping a few grand...All the videos are great, but I'm sure in-person is better...

This is how it sounds inside during cruising in sport mode with open valves. Deeper sound with many burbles but not loud at all. It gets twice as loud when you go full throttle.

For anyone who's on the fence I thought of the perfect justification to get one of these. If your car came with a spare tire like-mine did, then you can offset that extra weight by getting the axle back. Looks like it shaves a little over 20 pounds due to the titanium. Now if I could just convince my wife to let me put money into one of these instead of landscaping I'll be all set.

But that X5 at the end of the video still sounds about 10x better than the Akra on the X3M.

Also, bit of a cringe moment when that Amazon truck pulled out from the side street in front of the X3M. That's why you don't get crazy on busy city streets lined with parked cars.

I agree it sounds amazing and weird how all of a sudden everyone is interested. Ben r33_RGSport posted this info months ago and I was able to preorder both systems (X3M and M8) and have had them on since May due to delay in production and shipping (covid). Yes they are expensive as akra always is. Yes its probably overkill but then again so is a X3M. Food for thought.

I might have missed this but do the stock tips fit this? I’m guessing not due to pipe diameter differences. Not a fan of the CF tips, personal preference I know. It sounds amazing though just need a new plan for tips.
