That was specially made by the wheel manufacture. It was made to match the smaller carbon fiber pattern of the paddles. It is not a BMW part.

Yes, it lost the heated steering wheel function which is irrelevant for FL.

Mine was specially made and the only one of its kind in the world that has the heat in the leather, the vibration and the touch sensor all intact. Also here is the one they made for the M8 with all functions including heat and a sneak peak at the one they are making for my X5M... not complete yet the leather is being added and the M buttons and an extra set of those paddles for the M8. Anyone want to buy the autotechnic cf paddles

. He designed those for me because I like the 3D design ones. And yes I picked red text he offered in blue with matching blue M buttons and start.

Made a quick yt video to compare valves closed vs valves open. X3M Competition with a full Akra exhaust (muffler and midpipe).
Four modes are presented in the following order:
1) Sport mode, valves closed
2) Sport mode, valves open
3) Sport plus mode, valves closed
4) Sport plus mode, valves open

The S58 is amazing engine and adding a exhaust like the AK system can only add to the experience. I bet they sound and look amazing in person!
