If you don't get pics earlier, I'm Installing my Blackvue Cam and Battery this weekend and will snap some.

Its really easy, front or back of the fuse panel. I'm using a relay and direct connecting to the battery
Thanks man I've had the battery pack for months now. Just haven't got around to installing.

So I have done this with Fuse taps before, but to make sure you have clean power and aren't potentially jacking up something else in your cars electrical system, I recommend using a 12v /30A 4-pin Relay. This lets the car trigger when the the blackvue battery should get power, but the blackvue battery pulls directly from the car battery, and not from your 12v outlet or whatever.

If you really prefer to use the fuse taps, upto step 3 will get you to where you need to be

Also, if you're using a relay make sure you have a fuse on the 12v Supply line, Muy Importante!! The relays I bought had the fuse built in

Very nice! I used a fuse tap into the fuse that supplies the 12v outlet there in the back. I put the battery in the same spot as you but fashioned a foam block with a slot for the battery down in that cubby to keep it solidly "mounted".

The relay seems like a good idea, but I haven't had any problems with the fuse tap yet.

The battery lasts a lot longer than I thought it would, even from a short charge cycle.

This is the battery pack from my totaled M340IX and I never had any issues with it either using taps; I'm just being extra cautions with the M

Thread resurrection.

Does anyone know the part number for the miniature connector that the BMW ACE instructions refers to?

It fits into the power distribution panel to save from cutting or tapping any wires but the instruction manual doesn't give a part no.

Did you find out what the part number is? I'm looking to do a self install.

The connector that goes to the distru panel is Part # 61139232673

I Installed the ACE pro in my 23 M3 2 weeks ago. I ended up not using this connector because i couldnt get the distru panel to detach, just used a fuse tap instead.

Just got my M3 last week and I’m trying to do the same self install. Where you able to find the BMW install instructions anywhere or did you just went for it?
I’m trying to find the BMW instructions online for G80 but only come up with instructions for other models.

Did you find your dealer can order the kit? I purchased mine from the dealer parts department when I gave him the VIN.

I have been looking for these instructions for weeks, thank you so much for posting.

Did you disconnect the negative on the battery and the high voltage connector, before installation?
