Sport Transmission and Power Limit?
Does anyone know what kind of hp or tq these transmissions can handle? I plan on slowly adding parts here and there when I can to try and make it a FBO 35i, but do we know any limits to these? I wish I could just put in another Stage 2+ . Do we have any transmission reprogram or upgrades like some of the 335 autos?

The F25 uses the "45" version of the 8HP transmission, rated to handle 450nm of torque; equivalent to 331 ft-lbs.

RealOem.com and ZF itself.
I'm not implying that anything will blow up if your engine is making more than 450nm of torque, just stating the rated limit from the manufacturer. |

How do you like the xHP trans flash? This looks like something I'll NEED to do if I want to take this car any further with power. Have you played with their Delete Flash? That looks pretty exciting, a RWD X3 would be sweet!

The 8HP45 starts to burn up the C and E clutches around 600 wtq (built motor territory) paired with use/abuse. I've got plans to do mechanical upgrades, but the XHP tune is the way to go to make the OEM unit last until mechanical upgrades are available.

Another reason to go with xHP though, I believe, is for improved torque limits. I’ve not tried xDelete on my X3, but I agree, it would be fun! I have played with xDelete on my stage 1 650i xDrive, and it was fun for a day or two, but wasn’t my cup of tea . I had a RWD meth-tuned E60 N54 and remember loving the high-speed turning on it, and certainly it helped with the 650’s understeer, but even stage 1 it just makes SO MUCH power that in RWD mode, the traction control light would blip at anything over about 2/3 throttle, in any drive mode and at any speed. After a couple days I just missed the pure thrill of the rocket-like xDrive acceleration and re-enabled xDrive. Might be easier to keep the wheels from spinning on our N55 x3’s in RWD... definitely let me know what you think if you go for it! XDelete is fairly cheap compared to xHP Trans flash.

Not really sorry... Next time I’m out I’ll bring my OBD2 dongle, and try out the 0-60 logging feature in the app and let you know what it claims.

Are you sure about this? The 6 cylinder F25 is rated at 300 ft-lbs. I can't believe the transmission is only rated to handle a 10% increase in torque.

Yeah. I'm sure about the transmission and its rating from the manufacturer.

The trans max limits are probably pretty conservatively rated, but they're much lower than I'd have expected. With xdrive there's more strain from the increased traction. I've not heard of people blowing the trans, even with several mods and tuning, but it's something to keep in mind.

Does your launch control work (or is that only in Stg 3)? I've only attempted it once and it didn't really do anything different than it normally would have while mashing the gas and holding the brake. |

I “think” it enables launch control, but there still isn’t any checkered flag icon to show it... (I think that’s expected behavior though). I’ve only tried once, and seems like maybe there was less work for the brake... maybe? I agree, it didn’t seem like it did much
