Wheels/KW V3's installed

Pics on the alignment rack are after the KW V3's went on.

Pics on my driveway are on dinan springs.

Custom ordered these wheels from Alibaba, send me a dm if you want more info, I don't want to step on the sponsors toes.

Really happy with how they turned out.
21x9.5 +17 265
21x10.5 +29 295

Wheels are forged, and only cost $1548 shipped.

The seller was great to deal with, turn around time was 1.5 months, but I opted for sea shipping since I was in no rush.

Hot damn. Those wheels look good.

The vendors got an issue with free speech in this site? Hahaha. It’s not like you’re the one selling them and making profit without paying for the advertising fee on this site. It’s easy to tell because your post didn’t start with a weird AI/chat GPT story describing them. Are they the same wheels as specific or name brand?

Nice ride and great stance.

There was an earlier Alibaba exhaust thread that got closed because the sponsors and dropshippers didn't want people to know who the suppliers were so that they could cut out the middleman.

Replica 827M CSL wheels.

You can buy an OEM set from the dealer for $6500

The same wheels from a dropshipper for $5000
https://ind-distribution.com/product...gold-wheel-set

Or go direct to the source and get them for $1548 shipped made to order with whatever specs you want.

Don’t take this the wrong way as I do find it nice you can get the wheels spec’d as 21’s and custom offsets (and have a lot of alibaba items myself), but an oem set of bronze 20’s are around $4,000 from bmw parts sites like this one and around $2,800 for the black.

Furthermore, IND does not sell reps they are genuine bmw.

While the design may be the same, they are still reps and I don’t have any faults with them, just think you are making a bit of a stretch.

But, that’s enough from me your car does look pretty great!

I stand corrected regarding IND.
Guess the #'s make sense, a local dealer quoted me $6500 CDN for those wheels, so $5000 USD adds up.

Yes, they're replicas... but they're still forged. And even if something happens with them, I can buy 4 more sets and still come out ahead

Ah you’re in CA that makes sense!

Agreed they are a great value plus getting it in 21’s makes it all the better.

Looking forward to hearing how the KW’s work out for ya!

One of the struts was leaking out of the box unfortunately, and this wasn't discovered until the Dinan suspension was already out.

KW is sending a replacement strut, but I won't be reimbursed for the additional labour.

These things happen, but my suggestion would be to open the box and inspect before the install.

Oh that exhaust thread is gone? Haha oops. Nothing wrong with re-selling something, that’s how most business are. But the Alibabba story is out for real! Anybody upset about that should direct their silly frustrations at the wholesale company and not consumer/customers. That’s like McDonald’s being mad at me for getting hamburger fix’ns at the grocery store instead of the drive-thru.

I thought those wheels looked like a BMW set. But about getting them from BMW or a BMW parts supplier; they don’t come in specs needed for the SUV right? The genuine BMW version is for the car, so hell yeah on getting replica set for X3M.

hybridel what was the cost of swapping, or more specifically what was the cost of getting the Dinan springs installed initially? I'm thinking of going with them, I'm in Ontario. What are you doing with your old Dinan springs?

Labor for swapping was 9 hours plus an alignment.

The initial dinan install was also 8 hours labor. I was happy with dinan springs, but I ended up blowing one of the oem adaptive struts shortly after the install was done. BMW wanted $2800 plus labor to replace the strut, so I decided to upgrade to KW.

How do you think it blew? Do you think the lowering springs did it?

edit: got your PM. Could be unrelated as there are lots of others with lowering springs with no issues.

A few years ago I started a compilation thread listing Members' wheel and tire combinations, as its way too time-consuming to search through all pages of the F97/98 Sub-Forum to locate them. This provides a one-stop place to click on potential interesting specs by going right to the thread or post.

It is found in the 'Sticky' section which most Sub-Forums have at the top of the first page you open - like a header so those threads can always be located at the top of the first Sub-Forum page. Easy to see on PCs, but on mobile phones you have to click on the radio button in the dark blue header above the regular threads, labelled 'Show Sticky Threads', then you can see them. The link I initially provided takes you right to it.

You will be number 125, and I'll add you to the Wt N/A category to at least get your entry up there, but can edit and move if/when you provide the wheel weights.

Looks awesome man. That bronze finish is a touch darker than the OEM color. But still pretty sick regardless. And just because a company that we've never heard of before says a wheel is forged, doesn't mean their products really are though. Trust but verify. Hope they hold up well & you enjoy them.

I've had experience ordering in these wheels for china. Ordered in a set for a customer and weighed them without tires to OEM "Hybrid" forged and they turned out much lighter. Many Vossen Hybrid Forged / HRE Flowform buy aluminum blocks or "blanks" from Taiwan / China and cut them / machine them in North America to keep costs more competitive. I know a few local wheel companies who use the same manufacturer as BC Forged and just rebrand as their own.

Its a touchy subject - a lot of really good wheels are from China. But not always. I bought a set for another vehicle a few year back (straight from manufacturer) cheaper, etc. They were close - but would never balance right.

I kinda think they "were" made in same plant as higher cost branded wheels, but maybe were seconds or blems - that didn't cut it for branded. Also - remember, if you buy direct and there is an issue, you're likely screwed.

Just me, but I'm way more likely to buy Taiwanese than Chinese.
