Recall / Software Update?
Has anyone recently been contacted regarding a recall that requires a software update?
The dealer called me during a meeting, so I didn't get all the details. BMW doesn't show anything online...yet. They said it would take 2-3 hours. I had my RIS a little over a month ago, and at that time they said I was fully up to date. Curious what the update is and if it's time sensitive |

From my earlier post...Did 1000 miles on Friday (3/20). All Interstate with cruise set @ 90, averaged 18.1 to 18.4.
Took it in for the break-in service Saturday. There was an open action for programming the DME, but it takes anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours depending on what other control units need new software. I didnt have it done because it was late in the day. The stop-sale is only for cars that havent had the update, deliveries cant take place until the update has been done. Had it done the following Monday, billable hours were .25. Cleared all my Bimmercode coding BTW. Side note, I emailed my service advisor before my 1000 mile trip, since I knew about the open action. He replied I was all good. IMO this isn’t a recall item, so nothing will show up. Recalls are safety items, TSB’s, Action items, etc are at your leisure items. |
