Suspension upgrade advice

Hi all,

New to the forums and have searched a bit but haven't found much on suspension upgrade options/reviews. I'm considering an upgrade and am looking for some advice.

2014 xDrive35i, msport, sport suspension delete. I do not have the dynamic handling package/EDC. I'm running Hankook non-RFT.

The car does handle well, it just rolls a bit and plows into corners. I'd like to correct that but I also don't want to break teeth (this is my DD, I like a compliant ride if I can get it).

Options:
1) KW Variant 2 (doesn't look like V1 is an option for our car )
2) Bilstein B4/Eibach pro combo
3) Upgrade to the stock sport shocks/springs
4) Koni (saw them somewhere, can't seem to find them again)
5) Bilstein B12 pro kit

I'm leaning towards #1, is anyone running them? I'd prefer V1's because I'll probably never adjust them and I'd rather not pay for the privilege. My hesitation with the V2's (besides the $$$) is that they'd be too harsh...but if the V2's stock ride is smooth/compliant I'll get them for sure.

If the V2's won't work for me I'd consider the B4/Eibach combo next...

I think #4 (koni) and #5 (B12) would probably give me a pretty harsh ride so they aren't really a consideration, just listing them as options because there are so few!! If I'm off base here I'll reconsider them.

Any help/advice/reviews you can offer would be great!

Not sure what's available for stiffer anti-sway bars, but that's a good way to reduce body roll without the harsh ride associated with some of the aftermarket strut/shocks combinations.

Unfortunately there's only one option, and it's to get the OEM sport suspension sway bars. Really bummed out about that because I came from a C7 audi A6 and there were tons of aftermarket options.

The sport bars aren't much beefier than the standard ones but I'm still considering it. I'm not sure that alone would solve the problem so that's why I'm also looking into the suspension upgrade.

Yeah, if the sport ones are not much stiffer, they probably won't make a drastic difference. I guess the aftermarket doesn't feel the majority of people driving a SAV are as concerned with handling otherwise they would have selected a car. With the number of F25s sold world wide, you think there would be enough interest for the aftermarket to make some?

I put a large Addco set on my 96 4runner 17 years ago an it made a huge difference. Not that the 4runner can be compared to an X3 as far as handling, but they did dramatically reduce body roll.

I did see the second thread 'share your suspension' but I was looking for sway bar info at the time....great stuff in there, especially re: the Bilstein B4 sport option. I didn't realize that's the OEM sport shock. May be a good compromise for me, low cost, not too stiff/harsh.

It doesn't seem like many people have installed the V2's kind of a bummer that there's not more info out there.

The Megan Racing coilovers weren't on my radar, I'll take a look at those too.

I was looking at Koni's too, but I though they were more track oriented? If not I'll reconsider

I’m saving up for the Koni Special Active and Eibach springs.

Be advised ..... it is not cheap to replace the suspension. Looking at 6-8 hr job at $800-$1200.

If you doing coil overs and sway bars....wait to do it all at the same time.

Yeah i was thinking I might have to combine the upgrades because i've heard both jobs are labor intensive. Typically I like to upgrade stuff independently to feel the impact of each component, but not smart to do that on this car.

Why'd you choose the Koni's?

Reputation......I have yet to see a negative review of their product.
