Individual X3M Competition (Velvet Blue and Tartufo) has arrived…

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Greetings Xers…

First time X3 owners as we usually had “bigger SUVs” (Cayennes, X5s) but noticed that the X3s were getting bigger. Kids are off to college so no need for extra-extra space anymore.

Since my buddy Phil @ DD had his BRG X3MC, started me thinking of the nasty things I could do. So started calling around. None of the local dealers had allocations so I got hooked up with BMW of St Louis. I gave them a deposit, they took my order and I waited. We ordered Individual Velvet Blue and Tartufo interior.

3 months later, the truck arrived at at the dealer. First stop, to Detailers Domain to get some prep done. There they did their magic and installed Xpel everywhere, ceramic coated every nook and cranny and to finish it off, installed some KW V3s.

Time for some break in miles!

Mind me asking what the bill was for the KW V3s, installed? I would like to lower the car eventually.

The KW V3s are around $3400 before install. Install rates will vary from shop to shop. The labor on mine was bundled into the PPF install.

I specifically asked them to keep it at the highest setting (still lower than stock). The owner of Detailers Domain also has an Individual X3M Comp and has the same suspension so it was an easy decision for the install. However, he lowered his quite a bit more than we wanted.

This color is AMAZING! I love the stance of it as well. If you happen to be looking for winter wheels and tires send me a PM. I have some up for grabs as I sold mine in April of this year.

Looks amazing, funny enough I actually looked at getting velvet blue originally as well but ended up looking Toronto Red so much that I ordered that instead. But that color is definitely beautiful, congrats on the new car! Enjoy it in great health!

Thank you...looking forward to any feed back you may have on comfort after install. I personally don't mind the stock "feel" but do prefer the lowered look and if even less body roll is possible...that just icing on the cake.

Appreciate the info

Since aftermarket parts is my business, I cannot leave enough alone. Our first X3 product. Replacement engine strut braces. You know you don't need them, you just WANT them.

On the X3M, they are made from steel. On the Non-Ms, they are crushed aluminum tubes. Ours are going to be CNC'd from billet aluminum, and anodized black. So a little weight savings on the X3M version. The X3 M40i one from crushed aluminum is rather light, so it would be a visual improvement.

Thoughts?

Congratulations on the new ride and great choice with Velvet Blue as it's absolutely stunning on the X3MC.
This is my all time favourite BM colour and I am considering wrapping my M2C in this.
Congrats again mate and nice post.
