Weird Engine Whirring between 1000-1500 RPM only when engine temperature is reached

Hi Guys,

new to this Forum. I Need your help and your expert advice. I have 2016 BMW X3 xDrive 35i Msport Package with only 44000kms on it. I have started experiencing weird engine noise recently.

Here is what happens in my X3:

As I mentioned above my X3 only 44000kms. When I first start it in the morning it runs great and smooth like a brand new car. It drive so until the Engine reaches operating temperature (about 110 Deg C) which is roughly 40-45 minutes driving. And right after this, when the engine is hot the Whirring noise starts at between 1000 RPM to 1500 RPM. And this noise stays as long as I drive. Next morning again it's quiet and runs smooth but after driving little bit as I mentioned above the noise comes back. This noise stay even in Park, Drive, Reverse or in Neutral.

I have tried lot of things so far. Flushed engine and changed oil. Performed coolant bleed process. I even installed new belt, belt tensioner and idler pully. Installed new Engine Air filter. This noise is not going away. So far spent lot of money taking it to dealership and different mechanics. And nobody can confirm what is it.

I will really appreciate the help.

Can you pop the hood and listen if the fan is making the noise?

383vett Yes I did pop hood I even removed the radiator fan once and reinstalled.

The noise occurs when the car engine is hot. Do you think it's transmission related issue.
