Problems with the remote locking

Hello,

Please could I have some guidance?

I have problems with my remote locking on my 2007 E83 (3.0D). I initially changed the battery in the key fob and this worked for a period but I was having to re-programme the key from time to time.

Now it no longer works at all.

1. I have checked the fuses and these are ok
2. I have cut open the key again and the buttons and the battery are ok (reading 3.0V)
3. I have checked the remote control module in the boot and there are no obvious burn outs on the circuit board and I read an input voltage of around 7.0v on the incoming supply.

Does this mean the module is broken?

Are there any other things i can check?

Thanks

Alex

I may be wrong but the diversity antenna I think could be the issue

Agree on diversity antenna. It's at the top of the tailgate so the wires fray when you open and close it. If you have no radio reception that's another clue.

I fixed this on my E91 touring. Drop the headliner at the back and check all the wires. Three of mine were broken. You can sometimes get water ingress on the module. In addition to broken wires I also had a dead antenna module.
