2017 X3 F25, N20 engine start noise/feel
Hi all,
I am experiencing a weird N20 engine noise/feel when I start the engine. this has been happening for a while now. Feels like the engine is vibrating as the RPM drops, and once the RPM needle settles, the vibration goes away, it sort of feels like a misfire but it is not. I can feel it from the driver side and passenger side. I will record it next time. No CEL. No other issues. Engine oil drained and refilled every 5-6k. Anyone feel the N20 engine judder/vibrate/shake during engine start? it doesn't matter if it's a cold start or not... it happens during every engine start now.... Spark plugs were replaced 20k KM ago, on stock fuel injectors and ignition coils. |

so now it's gone, for the time being.
It's pretty much an engine shiver... like how you feel when you step out of the shower (cold shower). It goes away once the engine RPM settles. NO CEL, so that's a good sign. I will capture this and post video link soon, been super busy these days. And NO I will not file this under "normal BMW things" , the engine shouldn't shiver or vibrate like this upon engine turn over. |

has anyone upgraded to DINAN ignition coils? I am still running OEM BMW ignition coils, I plan to replace the ignition coils and replace the spark plugs at the same time (NGK).
Currently at 163,500KM (101,000 miles). I purchased my x3 at 50,000KM (31,000miles). Only replaced the spark plugs twice so far... still running OEM ignition coils. My x3 has not been abused, maybe redline once or twice. CEL only came on for the thermostat stuck closed. or open, can't remember |
