Did anyone else choose the standard 19” rims with all-season run flats? I went with this choice, mostly because I’m looking for a softer ride, and some of the reviewers said the 20” with performance tires had a stiff ride.

I’m also hoping to avoid switching out the tires when the temperature gets down in the 40’s F (apparently the performance / summer tires are not supposed to be used below 45 degrees).

Admittedly, I don’t really know which I would like better on the M40i, as I wasn’t able to test drive one (not available on the dealer lot).

I elected for the 20" jet black m wheels with performance rft. I know this is a staggered setup but I just thought the 19" looked kinda small on the body and the jet black wheels looked really nice with shadow line package. I figure I'll have to get a set of square 19s for the winter.

I have the 19' wheels with All Season run flats. The ride is great. I did test drive an X3 with 20's and chose the 19's. I have only had the X3 for a about a month so can't speak to winter driving...

I'm getting the 19s with the all season because this is going to at least be my full-time winter car and aside from the maybe more comfortable ride I didn't really want the hassle and expense of having to buy a second set of wheels and tires and swapping them out for winter and summer. I know the all seasons are not dedicated snow tires but I'm hoping they'll be good enough for Ohio winters.

My thoughts as well. Chicago winters can be rough, but all seasons have worked on my 3 series sedans.

I have them on my 2019 and left them as default on my 2023. I do run winter rims and tires because I travel up in the sticks of Maine and really want the extra security. For around here in metro Boston, I'd leave the defaults on year round and not worry about it.

For the F12 thing - I get not much information and lots of red all related to error in event handler. Any ideas? I'd like to know for gp's as much as the BMW site. I forgot how useful that was.

I called this morning and I may be in week 31, I'm not sure I believe him since my order went in the same time as most folks here.

Did they originally tell you 32?

Couldn't get status at all last week even though I've had a 112 status code for at least 11 days. My CA thought the end of August. The BMW Genius person I spoke to this morning was insistent it was scheduled for week 31.

The option list issues I'm seeing are somewhat concerning. I'm hoping if they deleted a standard model feature they'd indicate it somehow. Going to search more on the F12 thing later today.

I'll have to give them a call. Maybe I'll have to start a new thread...

EDIT: I'm still stuck here with you all for Week 32 per the Genius.

I went back to read the emails from when I was first emailing the dealer that I ended up getting the allocation from. When they offered it they mentioned it was scheduled to be built on 8/33. I'm assuming the "33" was a typo and they meant 8/3.
I've called Genius twice and both times they said week 32 which is in line with the 8/3 from the email.
I should quit checking my bmw garage because I know it's too soon to change status again. 😂

8/3 would be week 31 though. 8/8 is week 32.

You can either ask your CA or call the BMW Genius line and ask them.

When I was talking to the Genius I was again complaining about how the website could be so much better with instant email or text updates to both cut down on website bandwidth of people checking 5x/day and wasted time of the Genius' of us calling asking the same question all the time. He said most of his day is spent answering the "where is my car" questions.

8/3 would be week 31 though. 8/8 is week 32.
On my iPhone calendar week 32 starts on July 31
So I thought that seems about right? That would be the first week of august.

Just called the genius line. She told me that I am week 31, but that "week 31" is an intended start date. So according to her, mine should start being built the week of July 31st and be finished some time over the next two weeks.

Just got off the phone with BMW Genius re: my build. Still listed as Build Week 32 out of Spartanburg. She said Prod Start would be week of Aug 7th and typically takes 2 (possibly 3) weeks to complete production. Thereafter, prob 4-5 weeks by rail then truck to reach my dealer in E WA.

Further - confirmed Apple Carplay/Android connectivity still part of standard features. Also confirmed that all my options are still included - nothing deleted except for hands-free trunk release that I already knew about.

Cheers all!

Did the dealer tell you upfront that the foot trunk release thing was no longer available or you had to ask?
