If my order from April can't get done MY2022 and have to go to MY2023, I will sadly be canceling my order then. MY2023 costs more & has fewer options; just doesn't make sense for me if that's the case. Would probably either continue to drive my Allroad or maybe look at the Q5e again.

I hope it doesn't come to that for any of us!

If you don't get a 2022, are you going to get a 2023 despite the price hike? If not, what other cars will you consider?

I'm torn between pulling the trigger on a '23 or waiting to see if the Driving Assistance Professional package makes a comeback later in the year. It's not exactly a dealbreaker and not having it would cut the price increase by half.

I looked at Audi for a brief moment but unless you are buying a higher trim level SQ5 they too are cutting options. I might as well get an X3M at that point.

For me I'm not "needing" a new vehicle...I am just "wanting" a new vehicle. I would likely just sit and wait awhile. I started this journey as I was looking for something with higher ride height as I sometimes struggle getting in/out of my car...just getting older....and was also wanting something spirited that could fun to drive like my previous sports cars. I had also been looking at the SQ5 and the Q5e but was wanting remote start & Audi is still against doing this based on German laws even though they could do it for the USA. There is the option of aftermarket but you have to sacrifice one of your key fobs. Or I could go with the Q5e and it will pre-condition the vehicle like what remote start would do. The new 2023 Lexus RX 500h F Sport that was announced last night looks interesting as well. The 2023 Mercedes GLC is being announced later this morning; will check that out too. I turn 50 next year, so having all the latest safety features is important to me, as my driving acuity & vision is declining as I get older. I've asked my SA about this and he's supposed to be checking when gets over COVID to see if my order will still be a MY2022 or end up being MY2023.

Also curious for everyone that signed for a MY2022...if you got bumped to a MY2023 would BMW honor your contract price or would they force you to redo paperwork with the new higher pricing? Something to think about or ask your SA.

If your build gets bumped to MY 23 your dealership will have to put in a new build with updated pricing/options. There is no binding contract until the car is delivered and signed for so no, your current MY 22 price will not be honored if you're getting a MY 23 build.

My status changed this morning from Order Received to Scheduled for Production. Can't see any details yet in the web hack thing. But I guess my situation is good and will still be getting MY2022.
UPDATE 6/03: I called BMW last night and they told me build week 26 (last week of June).

To give those of us on waitlists hope, the most recent production dates I've seen have been June. For those that see the glass half-empty, I guess BMW could end production early...

At least I'm in 2nd, he said their waitlist is now 20+

Did he seem optimistic? I'm starting to accept the fact that I'll be an early 2023 model production.

Two spam calls in the last 30 mins, hopes are dwindling. At least we should get one of the first ‘23s.
