Thank you! Although, I just modified my build to an individual color (San Marino Blue Metallic). Just confirmed with my CA today that because of this, my build will become a MY23 (as the factory is no longer accepting individual orders for MY22). So I should be the first individual spec slated for production in July!


Honestly I'm glad to wait for the individual specced vehicle because I would have felt like I had settled on a late production MY22 and felt some buyers remorse.

No word on the MSRP bump (if any) for the MY23 M40i's, but I'm hoping that it'll come with some new wheel options and hopefully the option to spec M Sport Seats! I'll be sure to update this thread with my builds progress

Completely forgot to address your question lol I didn't spec the ventilated seats, as that option limits you to the Sensatec and I wasn't a fan when I saw them in person at the dealer. Hopefully they make Merino leather M sport seats an option for MY23 🤞🏽

ok just to jump on this thread, i placed an order in late february for a 22 x3m40i. was told i would get allocation in april for may build possibly june. My dealer now tells me this morning after much badgering from me, that it may be pushed to july since they arent getting allocations filled for whatever reason. I am first in line also. If not july it may get pushed to August for a MY23 as yours is. My issue is I ordered a 22 not a 23, they could change it for next year to something im not fond of. do we know if they plan on any mechanical or exterior changes for it. I am beyond pissed at this point. I also ordered the 718m rims from BMW and they are on their way. So without a car im stuck with 21" bmw rims. WTF hahaha

There will be zero powertrain or exterior changes between the MY, as the G01/02 just received the LCI refresh this previous FY. If anything, they'll likely bump MSRP $2/3k and offer more color options, interior options, etc…

As far as timeline goes, I placed a deposit 01/31 and didn't receive an allocation until mid March. The order status changed to "111" last week of March and I was given a Week 18 build slot. When I checked with the Genius hotline last Friday, I was told it was pushed to Week 20 and decided I wanted to wait for a MY23 individual spec instead. Called my CA right away and asked him to make it happen lol

thanks man. I am just beyond pissed at this point that its taking this long. I see others place an order after mine and already have a car in production or assigned at least. yeh i bet the msrp goes up also, and that sucks. hoping for more color choices and yeh the merino leather would be awesome.

Seems like most of us here were bumped from 15 to 18, in one fell swoop, but then some were bumped to 20 and some to 21, so I'm hoping those are real estimates and not just bumping everyone into one random week?

Just being super optimistic I guess

I was originally week 18 and was bumped to week 20 for an x3 M40i. Got production number March 16. The only option that I got from the dealer that is not available on website is the shadowline package.

My build is:

Red calipers

I also got shadowline as an off-the-customer-website option. But to be honest, I am perceiving that customer website as a disconnected irrelevant shit pile anyway. I.E. incorrect euro hitch pic, and also wrong spare tire pic.

The dealer system is directly connected to the corporate systems and impacts production and supply chain.

Production number issued March 4th. Given week 18 build …. I'm supposedly still a week 18 according to update line. He did say "estimated" on the call.

I'm not holding my breath. If my projection gets pushed into June I might have to think about MY23…. ??? 🤷*♂️

Yeah on the west coast. Usually I would say taking delivery isn't too far off once production starts but as we've seen across forums it's a toss up getting delivery on time. Still have hope though.

I put my deposit down feb 18, got an order received number March 4.

Went from week 15 to 18, now 20

Same day I got my production number… March 4th. Was told week 17 or 18 back then and I'm still being told I'm week 18.
