Bimmertech and Bimmercode are apples and oranges. Unless I am grossly misunderstanding, you’re talking about something that’s wired into the car (BT). I mean, it could theoretically do just about anything. Nothing is coded into the various systems. It’s its own little computer in there, for all intents and purposes.

Anyone run outside to try this? Does it work stock, or do we need the remote start module described?

You can’t do this with the remote start that you buy from BMW. It’s a aftermarket remote start kit .

The comfort seat access is a product of the aftermarket remote start, correct? It’s not that they magically discovered fhis button sequence that moves the seat?

That's what I was trying to say. As far as I can tell, it's a feature of the Bimmertech remote start. Not something that you can easily code into the BMW controllers (at least not that anyone seems to have discovered yet).

Really aggravating that BMW made comfort entry on the G01 so difficult. It was an OBD Eleven one-touch app for the wife's Q5. And darn, it's useful.

A general problem, I think. Worked fine on my F30 but not on my F40, even though the correct data fields are still available. It seems that the feature has been explicitly provided for at least some of the recent electric models.

On our 2024 q5 it’s there stock, don’t need to code it.
Oh yeah, and the steering wheel adjustment is power, it moves too! That said, in my opinion, that’s the only thing the Audi has over the bnw. And the stereo…

Reading BMW Codes

Rookie question....

Is Bimmercode only for coding?
I am looking for something to read internal BMW fault codes.

Yes you need Bimmerlink or something similar to read fault codes

Exhaust Flap Control - 2024 X3M40i

Incase it helps anyone else.

1) Used Bimmercode to enable "Sporty" option in Engine sounds.

(expert mode, HU, HMI_speech, Enable DISPLAY_MENU_CONFIGURATION_ENGINE_SOUND
and DISPLAY_CONFIGURABILITY_ENGINE_SOUND)

2) Sporty option now shows up in the engine sound menu on iDrive.

Irrespective of selected Drive Profile:
- Sporty - Flap Fully Open
- Balanced - Flap Opening Varies
- Reduced - Flap Fully Closed

Pops are dependent on engine tuning/timing, so to get the pops, the car still need to be put in Sports or Sports+ mode. However, Sporty option will keep the flap open even in Comfort or Eco pro modes and does sound good.

The car also does remember the last setting and I do not have to change it to Sporty everytime.

I think this is a better option than installing a aftermarket Flap Control Module, I can achieve the same results from within iDrive.

you can pull a fuse in 3 seconds and get the same results... no need for any modifications and modules... the fuse being pulled just turns off the mechanism that closes the flap... it has 0 negative side effects... but if bimmercode works, so be it

The nice part about being able to select it via iDrive is that I don't always want the flap open. On a long drive at steady speeds, it can drone intrusively into the cabin, IMO.

i have pretty good hearing and am super sensitive to noise... i would argue the drone is at best a few decibels

After a couple of hours it really gets on my nerves. I do like it around town or when driving conditions vary a lot. But if the car sits at x-mph for a couple of hours it's annoying as the dickens to me, of course, its highly subjective and some folks never get tired of it.

Are you sure you can pull the fuse in the newer 2023+ Models? I am assuming you are talking about pulling fuse 203.

Based on what I was able to research, in the prior iteration, it was possible but in the newer ones the Flap is controlled by the ECU directly and pulling fuse 203 has no impact on the flap control module.

it works on my 2023 car...

but a few caveats... my car is coded to always drive in sport individual... and the fuse was pulled when the flap was open so there is no way for it actuate a close after that

Anybody knows if this coding can be applied to G01 autohold? It enables two step autohold, meaning it will not engage at every stop, only if you press the brake pedal harder. My autohold is quite rough and I keep it disabled most of the time. I asked the dealer if it can be adjusted to be smoother but the answer was no.
