Sorry if it's in this thread, but I did not find it... is there any way to track a car coming from Spartanburg as it is for cars manufactured in SA? I mean, something similar to the "ro ro Durban" webpage for the Charleston port, so we can check if the car is in the port, and estimate in which boat is coming to Europe.
Thank you! |

I've making some more research, and I think I could know in which boat the car is coming... unfortunately wallenius company removed the option of tracking with the VIN for safety reasons, so now it is impossible to track the car in their website.
On Friday I was at my dealer to make an appointment to change the front windshield, and I discovered that my order was fortunately moved forward another two weeks, so now it shows week 10 (from 8th to 13th March), but status was 190, so still not loaded to the boat. If next wednesday, when I go again to change the windshield it has moved to some status between 191 and 195, I am almost sure that my car will be here: Now my doubt is if the car will go to Spain by train or truck, or they will load it in another boat to Santander, where BMW has a logistics center. In that case it could be this option, but then car would not arrive my dealer on time: |

Sorry to see you still have no car - this is possibly the most painful thing I've ever seen in terms of making a simple car purchase.
If it's any conciliation, since I got my car mid December, I've only clocked up 450 ish miles because of lock down. |

Sorry to bump an old thread, but it is mostly relevant...
Anyone know how to track a vehicle from Spartanburg to a US destination? (west coast, specifically)

Mine was on Norfolk southern, and they have a telephone system which is not supposed to be for general public but people who are customers. But it is easy to use the automated part without talking to anyone - and specify certain digits of AWB bill no, and it will tell you the last station the railcar has passed. At Kansas, it might change into a different company railcar, but the tracking will work till the end. How to get the AWB / Bill of Lading? Ask your sales rep to pull the printout of the current vehicle inquiry status from the system. It has the Bill of Lading number and mentions which train operator it is on. Only some part of this number is needed for the tracking. Exact steps to track depends on the train operator (some do not have tracking) - I can dig up that info if you have trouble finding it. |
